My School Things ( Form 1)

Objectives:

- to improve learners' speaking skills;

- to teach learners to work in groups;

- to bring up interest to learning English.

Equipment: a projector, a laptop, topical flashcards.

Classroom objects: rubber, pen, pencil, bag, book, desk, ruler, notebook, pencil case

                                                    Procedure

I. Introduction. Warming-up

T: Good morning, children!

Ss: Good morning, teacher!

T: I am glad to see you! Sit down, please! Let's start our lesson with the song "Hello".

(Learners sing a song with their teacher.)

II. The Main Part of the Lesson

1. Phonetic drills

T: Repeat after me, please!

Hello, hello,

Hello, my friend!

Hello, my friend!

Welcome to English land!

2. Vocabulary Presentation

T: Look at the screen, please! Listen to me and repeat!

(A book, a bag, a pen, a pencil, a rubber, a desk, a ruler, a notebook, a pencil case)

T: Now open your book at page 28. Look at the picture and listen to me again.

(The teacher names the classroom objects and learners repeat after her.)

T: Very well!

(Then the teacher asks learners and they answer her questions.)

T: What's number 7?

Ss: Ruler.

T: What's number 2?

Ss: Pen. Etc.

3. Game "What's the missing?" (using topical flashcards)

4. Physical Activity

T: I see you are tired. Stand up! Let's do moving activity together!

Hands up! Hands down! Hands on hips! Sit down!

Hands up! Hands to the sides! Bend left! Bend right!

Hands up! Hands down! One, two, three - hop! One, two, three - stop! Sit down, please!

5. Grammar Presentation and Practice

T: What's this?-----It's a pencil.

    Is it a pen?--------Yes, it is/No,it isn't.

(The teacher shows topical flashcards and ask questions to learners.)

6. Work in groups (playing the guessing game)

(Вчитель пропонує учням закрити очі і відгадати, що зображено на малюнку.)

S1: What's this?

S2: It's a....

S3: Is it a ...?

S4: Yes, it is./No, it isn't.

ІІІ. Summing-up. Reflection

T: Діти, скажіть, що ми робили на уроці?

Ss: Співали, вчили нові слова, грали, відповідали на запитання.

T: Вам сподобався урок?

Ss: (Students answer.)

T: Our lesson is over.  Well done! Say goodbye to each other!

Ss: Goodbye!

T: Goodbye, children! See you soon!
