Тема за програмою: Знайомство. Привітання.
The subject: Greeting. Meeting
The aim: by the end of the lesson pupils will be able to meet each other, ask and tell their names, understand the elementary commands in English
The objectives: - present new vocabulary “good morning”, “hello”, “nice to meet you”,” what’s your name”, “my name is”;
-distinguish the meanings of the words
-apply the words in given situations
-motivate pupils to study English ;
- develop skills of memory, collaboration, critical thinking
- bring up respectful attitude to friends.
The equipment: multimedia system, a soft toy, a small ball, paper masks
The procedure of the lesson
I. The introductory part.
1. Greeting:
The teacher says “Good morning” and asks pupils to stand in a circle. The teacher is holding a toy. She says “Good morning, Kate, and passes it to the next pupil. The pupil responds, adding the name of a friend next to him.
2. Listening.
The pupils watch “Hello” song https://youtu.be/aeQlnlMpizI (English with Matt).
Children repeat the moves after Matt.
II.The main part
Children sit in a circle. The part of pupils have to stand up each time they hear the words “Good morning”, the rest do the same when they hear the words “Hello”. (For the first time the teacher demonstrates the action).
3. Game “Pair up”. Children move around the class till the teacher says “Stop”. They say Hello to the pupil which is the closest to him. They also can move till the nice melody of a song plays.
4. A pupil stands in the middle of the class with closed eyes. The rest of pupils stand in a semi- circle.
One of the pupils says “Good morning” but in a different voice. The pupil must respond “Good morning”, adding the name of the friend. If he guessed the name of the friend correctly he can choose the next player, if not- the person who changed the voice has the right to guess the classmate by the voice.
5. Pupils make 2 circles: inner and outer. By the signal of the teacher the inner circle moves saying the words “Hello, nice to meet you”.
The pupils of the outer circle respond them: Hello, nice to meet you too.
6. New vocabulary: My name is… What’s your name?
Teacher: Watch a song https://youtu.be/BAFSTrSNJMg and move with Matt.
Teacher: Let me introduce myself. My name is… What is your name?
The pupils are sitting in a circle. The teacher gets a ball or the soft toy and says: My name is …What is your name?….and passes the ball to the pupil next to her. The Pupil tells his name and passes the ball with the words “What is your name?”. The game goes until the last pupil in the circle says the words.
6. Puppet theatre
The pupils are sitting in a circle. The teacher demonstrates the masks of puppets telling their names. Each student gets a mask and tells the name of the mask.
