1.Teacher greets the pupils by saying Good morning class. Pupils respond Good morning teacher. 2.Stand in front of the class, point to yourself and say I’m… Invite Ss to do the same. Repeat until all Ss have introduced themselves. 3. Introduce Goodbye by waving to Ss and turning your back slightly as if walking away. Invite Ss to do the same.

1.Have Ss open their books to page 4. Ex.1. Play the CD (track 2). Listen and point to the pictures. Listen again and repeat. 2.Draw Ss attention to the picture and ask them, what they see. Point to each pony and encourage Ss to say (Pony with glasses – Hello!, pony without glasses – Goodbye!). 3.Intoduce Tony the pony using the Tony finger puppet. Say Hello, I’m Tony the pony. 4. Tell Ss they’re going to listen to a song (track 3). Play the song once and have Ss listen. Play the song a second time and have Ss wave hello and goodbye as they listen. Play the song again and sing. |

1.Ex.3 Let’s play! 2.Instruct all Ss to stand up. Tell them that you are going to say the two greetings Hello! Goodbye!. When you say Hello! Ss have to move one step forward and when you say Goodbye! They move one step backwards. Ss who don’t perform correctly are out of the game. |

1.Ex.2 Listen, point and repeat. Play the CD (track 8). Explain to Ss that they will listen to Betty and Ron and they will have to point to the person that speaks each time. Ask Betty or Ron? Play the CD again, pausing after each phrase for Ss to repeat. 2.Wb p.5 Name the children. In the first picture waving goodbye. In the second picture greeting and introducing themselves. Play the CD (track 9) and have Ss listen to the first dialogue. Ask them to match number 1 to the correct picture. Repeat this procedure for the second dialogue. Tell Ss to colour in the pictures. |
