на тему:

“The World of Nature”

Тема: The world of nature.

Підтема: SEASONS AND THE WEATHER.

Мета: активізувати та закріпити вивчений лексико-граматичний матеріал, вдосконалювати вміння та навички аудіювання, читання, письма, усного мовлення; уважно стежити за презентованою інформацією, ефективно співпрацювати під час парної та групової роботи, мотивувати готовність брати участь в іншомовному спілкуванні; виховувати дисципліну, повагу до однокласників, звичку до систематичної розумової праці.

Обладнання: малюнки, опорні схеми, картки, підручник, інтерактивна     дошка.

Форма проведення: урок з використанням інтерактивних технологій.

Тип уроку: урок закріплення та систематизації знань, умінь та навичок.

 

Хід уроку

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

  • Greeting

T: Good morning, students.

Ss: Good morning, teacher.

T: Nice to see you.

Ss: Nice to see you too, teacher.

T: How are you today?

Ss: We are fine, thank you.    

Tongue twister

T: Let’s wake our tongues up. We’ll say a tongue twister about WEATHER.

Whether the weather is warm,

Whether the weather is hot,

We have to put up with the weather,

Whether we like it or not.

T: Which sound can you hear more often? Can you name more words with this sound?

  • Aim

T: Look at the blackboard, you can see some pictures. So what do you think about the topic of our lesson? What is it! You are quite right. It is seasons and weather.

T: Today, we are going to speak about different seasons and weather. You’ll also practice your skills in speaking and reading, listening and writing. I wish you to be calm and to work well.

  • Warming up

T: I want to show you a short video. (Seasons)

Now answer my questions.

  1. How many seasons are there in a year?
  2. How many months are there in a season?
  3. How many months are there in a year?
  4. What seasons do you know?
  5. What season is it now?

T: Oh, you are great!!!

As I know some of you can tell us a very nice poem about seasons. Am I right? So, you are welcome.

      SEASONS

In spring the trees are green,

In autumn they are red and golden,

In summer the sun is bright,

In winter the snow is white.

But I can play and I can sing

In summer and winter,

In autumn and spring.

 

 

 

 

 

 

ІІ. Основна частина уроку

  • Vocabulary practice

T: We know that there are four seasons in a year. But what can be the weather like in different seasons? Look at the blackboard and name the weather. (There is a weather cluster on the blackboard)

  • Playtime

Game “Musical cards”

T: My dear students, you’ll get the weather cards. While music playing, you should pass the cards to each other, and when the music is stopped, you hold them up and name your weather cards.

  • Sorting out

T: Look at the blackboard. You can see a CLOUD and THE SUN.

A cloud is for bad weather words and the sun is for the good weather words. You should choose a weather word, read it and stick on the cloud or on the sun.

  • Word-chain

T: Students, you will get a word-chain. Then, you should find and circle the weather-words. Some of you will go to the blackboard and write them in the correct columns according to the season.

  • Grammar practice

T: Look at the screen and remember

   It is nicer than in London.

   It is hotter in summer than in spring.

   It is sunnier in Ukraine than in England.

 

 T: Every season is different. Let’s compare seasons. Get some cards and make up sentences.

 

Make up sentences as in the example.

e.g. It is warmer in summer than in spring.

T: Read the text about seasons and weather.

Seasons and weather

  There are four seasons in a year: winter, spring, summer and autumn. It is cold and windy in winter and it often snows. We can ski, skate and many active games out doors.

  In spring it is warm and sunny, but it rains sometimes. The trees are green and the weather is fine. It is nice to walk in the park and forests.

  In summer the days are long and the nights are short. It is sunny and hot. We can swim in the rivers, lakes and seas. The sky is blue and weather is always very fine!

  It often rains in autumn. There are many clouds in the sky. It is often windy and foggy in autumn. When it doesn’t rain we can go to the forest, pick mushrooms and have a picnic.

 

  1. Post- Reading Activity.

T: Look at the screen. Read the sentences. Say TRUE or FALSE.

1.     It’s cold, windy and it often rains in winter.

2.     We can skate and ski in winter.

3.     It’s sunny and warm in summer.

4.     We can swim in the rivers, lakes and seas in autumn.

5.     In summer the nights are long and the days are short.

6.     In autumn it’s often foggy and rainy.

7.     You can have a picnic in autumn if the weather is fine.

 

 

 

  • Speaking

T: Complete and act out the dialogue in pairs:

  • What is your favourite season?
  • I like ____________. The weather is ________________in ________. I can ________________ and _____________.

And what about you?

  • I like____________. I can ________________in _____________.

  • Homework

T: Your home task is to write about your favourite season and draw a picture.

 

  • Summarizing
