There are many kinds of mass media, for example: computer, television, books and newspapers, radio and mobile phones. Due to this we can communicate with each other, get necessary information, write e-mails, listen to the news all around the world, watch films and interesting programmes and many others.

Books play very important role in our lives. "Books and friends should be few but good" says an English proverb. A book is certainly a friend and a teacher. We learn many things by reading books. Books teach people to live. After reading some books it is easy to understand what should be done and what must not be done.
Using computer you can see a lot of information. You can read news or watch some video about the latest events in your country, city or town. There are many sources of information: social networking, for example and many others. Computer is one of the best kinds of mass media.
Mobile phone is a good technology. The first mobile phone was invented in 1973 by Martin Cooper. He is the father of the mobile phones. Mobile phone has become popular to everybody nowadays. The biggest advantage of having the mobile phone is that you can communicate with your family and friends no matter where you are.
Millions of people all over the world read newspapers and magazines. Among the first newspapers in Ukraine, there were Lviv Courier (started in 1749), Kharkiv Weekly (started in 1817). Newspapers can be of daily or weekly publication. Magazines are usually monthlies.
Television is one of the major mass media. Today every family has television. It plays a very important role in our lives. TV gives people a lot of interesting information. You can find about wonderful things, world flora and fauna. Also TV gives great possibilities for education. We can learn foreign languages. There are many channels. These channels show cartoons, foreign films, sport programmes.
Think about radio, and what often comes to mind is the crystal clear music and spoken words broadcast by FM stations across America. But radio wasn't always so advanced -- or so popular. Like many technologies, it evolved gradually and gained acceptance slowly. Today, radio continues to evolve as it competes with other technologies to attract and hold an audience.
