Lesson 1. Seasons.
Мета:

навчальна: практикувати усі види мовленнєвої діяльності, ознайомити з новими лексичними одиницями (ЛО), повторити раніше вивчені ЛО;
-
розвивальна: удосконалювати фонетику та артикуляцію звуків, розвивати усні комунікативні вміння з опорою на наочність;
-
виховна: зацікавити учнів темою уроку, виховувати дисципліну, інтерес до вивчення іноземної мови.

Обладнання: малюнки з порами року, картки з ЛО, картки «Agree» «Disagree».

Warming-up.
The pictures of four seasons are stuck on the walls of the classroom. Pupils name them. Teacher reads the poem:
Spring is green,
Summer is bright,
Autumn is yellow,
Winter is white.
Pupils repeat each line after the teacher. Then pupils who have the cards with the names of the seasons, go to the pictures and stick them.

Presentation the Vocabulary.

Listen and repeat (ex. 1, p. 10).

Teacher divides the class into 4 groups. Each group has the card with the name of the season. Pupils write the weather words to every season.

Pupils complete sentences of ex. 1b, p. 10 with new words. They say:
It is cold and rainy in autumn.
It is frosty and snowy in winter.
It is hot and sunny in summer.
It is warm and windy in spring.

Teacher reads the text, pupils listen. Then teacher reads, pupils repeat.

Ex. 3, p. 11. The cards with “Agree”/ “Disagree” are in different corners of the classroom. Pupils read sentences and go to the cards with “Agree”/ “Disagree”.

Game “Artist”.
Pupils take a sheet of paper and coloured pencils. Teacher gives instructions, they draw.
Draw the yellow sun, green grass, red, blue and pink flowers. What season is it?
Draw yellow and orange trees, rain. What season is it?
Draw a snowman, snow in the trees and on the ground. What season is it?

Pair work (ex. 4, p. 11)
Pupils read the questions and answer them in pairs. Then they change the pairs and repeat questions with answers. They change pairs several times.

Agree/ Disagree. The cards with “Agree”/ “Disagree” are in different corners of the classroom. teacher reads sentences and pupils go to the cards with “Agree”/ “Disagree”.
September is in spring. January is in autumn. March is in summer. June is in winter.

Pre-reading. There are some words on the board: frosty, hot, sunny, snowy, play football, make a snowman, play snowballs, run, ski, January, August. Pupils divide them into groups: Summer and Winter.

Reading in groups. Group A reads the text about summer. Group B reads the text about winter.

Post-reading. Answer the questions (ex. 4, p. 13). Group A asks pupils from group B. Group B asks pupils from group A.

Speaking. Pupils stand into 2 lines facing each other. Ps from one line ask questions which are written on the board: Do you like summer/ winter? What can you do in summer/ winter? Ps from other line answer. Then ps from the first line move right, ps from the other line stand at their places.

Game “Bingo”. Teacher gives ps sheets of paper with 16 squares. There is a word from the topic in each square. Teacher says says the words, ps cover them with coins. Pupil who has 4 words horizontally or vertically or diagonally says Bingo! And is the winner.

Ball-game. Teacher asks a pupil: “Can you play football in summer?” and throws the ball. The pupil answers and throws the ball back to the teacher. Next questions: Can you Ride a bike in winter? Can you skate in spring?

Writing. Ps complete sentences using the table, write them into the exercise-books.

Lesson 4. What is the weather like today?

Хід уроку

Disappearing Game. Teacher writes on the board six months: March, April, May, June, July, August. Ps do choral repetition of the words. Then teacher rubs one of the words. Ps repeat all words including the missing one. Teacher continues to rub till there are no words on the board. Ps say all words from the memory. After that ps match months with seasons and say: March, April, May are spring months. June, July, August are summer months.
III. Vocabulary Practice.

Listen and repeat (ex. 1, p. 16). Ps repeat the words after the teacher pointing to the pictures.

Ps answer the teacher’s questions: Is it windy today? Is it rainy today? Is it sunny today? Is it warm today?
-
Game “Artist”. Teacher asks to draw different kinds of weather: sunny, cloudy, windy, cold, warm, rainy. Then teacher points to someone’s picture and asks: ‘What is the weather like today?’ Ps answer the questions.
IV. Reading (ex. 4, p.17)
-
Ps read after the teacher, then in pairs.
-
After reading ps have to say if the statements to the dialogue are true or false.

It is cloudy.
V. Game ‘Merry-go-round’.
The class is divided into two groups. They make two circles: inner circle and outer circle. Ps from both circles are facing each other. Ps from inner circle put a question to the picture ”What is the weather like?” Ps from outer circle answer and move right. Ps of inner circle stand at their places.
VI. Writing (ex. 5, p. 17).

Ps read and translate the words from the box.

Ps read and translate the sentences trying to put in the necessary words.

Lesson 5. What is the weather like in the world?

Spelling Crocodile Game. Teacher thinks about one of the words ps had to learn by heart at home. It is the weather word. They have to guess this word. Teacher sticks a picture of crocodile in one end of the board, a man (a figure of a man) in another end of the board and 6 steps between a man and a crocodile. Then teacher draws dashes for the letters of the word ps have to guess. Ps take turns to guess one letter. If there is a letter in the word, teacher writes it instead of a dash. If there isn’t a letter, one step is rubbed and the distance between the man and the crocodile gets closer. Ps have to guess all the letters correctly before there are no steps and the crocodile will attack the man.

III. Reading (ex. 1, p.18).

Pre-reading. Teacher writes on the board the names of the countries: the USA, Australia, China, England, reads them, ps repeat. Ps look at the pictures of ex. 1 and say where each country is.

Post-reading. 1) Match the country and the weather.
