Grammar Auction
The class is divided into two teams. For example: students take out a card. Those who have “would” is the first team, those who have “used to” is the second team. Each team gets a budget of €1000 in cash. On the board there are 5 lots. They look like the sentences with current grammar (used to/would). Three of them are incorrect, two are correct:
Start an auction at €50 and keep increasing until each sentence is sold to the highest bidding team. A maximum bid on each lot is €250.
A team which proposes the highest bid, buys a lot and has a chance to correct it. If they succeed, they add the amount they paid. If they fail, the team loses the amount they proposed. Win the team which finally has more money.
