Мета - навчити учнів оперувати математичними термінами англійською мовою на основі розв'язування прикладів і задач.

Topic∶ School is Cool. At the Maths lesson.
Objectives∶ to develop reading, speaking, writing and listening skills; to learn new words and word-combinations concerning Maths; to develop students’ skills to work in groups and in pairs; to teach children to do different calculations and to solve problems in English.
Outcomes∶ by the end of the lesson the students will be able to read and to do the sums in English, solve problems in English, make short dialogues and express their opinion.
Materials∶ riddles, a short video, PC, TV, flashcards ’’School subjects’’, cards with new vocabulary, cards for work in pairs, problems, sums.
Lesson Procedure∶
Teacher∶ - Good-afternoon, pupils!
Pupils∶ - Good-afternoon, teacher!
T∶ - It’s nice to see you today!
P∶ - It’s nice to see you too!
T∶ - For today you were to revise the names of the subjects. So now guess the riddles, please!
Teacher∶ - So today we are going to have Maths. Our topic is – Maths in English. At the lesson we shall learn new words and word-combinations that we can use at Maths, we shall do the sums, solve problems, watch a short video, work in pairs and your teacher of Maths – Svitlana Vadymivna will help us and control if we do everything correct.
T∶ We’ll start our work with topical vocabulary. (cards)

T∶ - So let’s do sums! Svitlana Vadymivna will dictate you different sums and your task is to write them down on the board and in your copybooks, and read them in English.
T∶ - Oh, I see that you are tired. Let’s have a rest.

T∶ - Tell me please, do you solve problems at your Maths lessons?
P∶ - Yes, we do.

Problem 1
One kilo of apples costs 15 hryvnias. How much do 3 kilos of apples cost?
T∶ - Read the problem, please.
P∶ - 15·3=45(hrn)
Answer∶ 45 hryvnias.
Problem 2
For the picnic we bought 3 packets of chips and one bottle of coca cola. It costs 49 hryvnias. How much does one packet of chips cost if you know that the bottle of coca cola costs 25 hryvnias?
Answer∶ 8 hryvnias.
T∶ - Now we see that you can solve problems and write them down in English.
T∶- Now I’ll give you cards and you are going to work in pairs. On these cards you have got a chart with 2 questions about you and your partner. You’ll have 3 minutes to answer those questions and make a short dialogue concerning those questions.
