Мета:

• формування комунікативної компетенції;
• розширення потенційного словника учнів;
• поглиблення соціокультурних знань учнів;
• мотивація учнів до поглибленого вивчення англійської мови;
• стимулювання учнів до самовдосконалення.

Обладнання:

картки для роботи в групах, аудіо записи пісень англійською мовою, сертифікат та грамота для нагородження переможців та учасників заходу

Попередня підготовка:

У день «Музичної скриньки» з початку занять і до кінця на перервах лунають у звукозапису пісні англійською мовою, виконавцями яких є носії мови.

Перебіг заходу:

І. Вступна частина

1. Привітання. Організаційний момент.

Teacher: Music has always been one of the most popular and one of the most ancient forms of art. It is a unique combination of sound and rhythm. It is an integral part of our life. It was born together with people and reflects the world around by means of combinations of tones. And today you are going to take part in the  contest “Musical casket”. At first we should  make up teams. (Розподіл учнів на команди.(C&F))

II.  Основна частина

2.  Pupil 1:It is difficult to live without music. We can hear music everywhere: in the streets, at home, over the radio and TV, in the parks, in the concert halls, at the seaside. Music plays a very important role in people’s life.

Pupil 2: Music can relax, treat and cure, inspire, provoke our deepest emotions and fill our hearts with kindness, joy and happiness.

Pupil 1:And our first level is called “Where’s that music from?”. Listen to the music and guess what country  it is from.

3. Pupil 2: Thank you very much for your activity, I think it was funny for you and now it’s time to go to the next level “Who sings these songs?”.  You should listen to the song and name  the singer.

3. Freddy Mercury – We are the champions
4. Madonna – Girl gone wild
5. The Beatles – Yesterday
6. Whitney Houston – I will always love you

4. Pupil 1: People in Great Britain and the USA are fond of music. Their tastes differ but there are so many groups, musical theatres, orchestras, singers that they can satisfy every taste.

Pupil 2:  And there are the worldwide famous songs and everybody knows them. The next level is “Name the song”. You’ll hear a short piece of song, and then you should guess its name and sing it all together.

4. Brenda Lee – Jingle bells

5. Pupil 1: Thanks a lot for your beautiful and merry singing. The next and the last  task is to read? Translate and sing the following song. And you should also name the star who is the singer:

There comes a time when we need a certain call

When the world must come together as one

and it’s time to lend a hand to life

There greatest gift of all

We can’t go on pretending day by day

That someone, somewhere will soon make a change

III. Заключна частина уроку

6.  Teacher:  It was a great contest!

You’ve got different smiles on your desks. Please, choose the one that expresses your mood now and stick them on the board. (учні обирають відповідні смайлики та кріплять їх на дошку; після цього вчитель може визначити, чи сподобався захід дітям)

Teacher:  Now let’s count your points and  I would like to name the winner of the “Musical casket” (підведення підсумків і визначення переможців).

Pupil 1:Songs are fun to listen and dance,

Shake and jump when you get a chance.

Play your music right after school

It’s not about, trying to be cool.

Pupil 2: When a super fun song enters your ear,

You’ll get so excited, suddenly you’ll cheer.

Go and pick songs that you like the best,

Enjoy your music with smiles and zest!
