Тема: Музичні стилі.

Мета: Повторити й активізувати лексику теми;

Ознайомити учнів із новою лексикою теми та закріпити її в усному мовленні;  Практикувати навички  монологічного мовлення;

Удосконалювати навички читання;  

Розвивати творчі здібності учнів;  Виховувати спостережливість та формувати естетичні смаки.

Обладнання: Підручник, картки для роботи в парах.

Procedure

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

a) Greeting.

T: Good morning. I'm glad to see you.

T: How are you getting on?

b)Повідомлення теми і мети уроку

Т: We are continuing speaking about music and your musical tastes. Today we'll learn new vocabulary which will help you to describe  emotions you experience while listening to different music styles and  speak about the music you prefer to listen.

Look at the prompts and say why people listen to music.      

Music

• helps to focus on one’s study;
•  makes people feel energetic (gives energy);
• increases productivity;
• cheers when a person feels sad;
• makes people feel relaxed

T: Lots of people love listening to music. I’m sure you also do. Also  I’m  certain you know that music has different styles. Which of them can you name? (Students’ answers). Today we’ll learn some main styles. Surely you need to know their characteristic features. Let’s work in pairs. Read the descriptions and match them with the styles.

T: Do you know these performers? Now match them with the right music style:

3) Speaking Practice

a) T: Music plays a very important part in our lives but tastes differ and you may or may not like some styles. Music can sound wonderful but sometimes  you think it sounds terrible. Which music genres do you prefer?  Which one you don’t like? Use phrases which are familiar to you.

    Students’ answers:

    I love / I’m really into / I don’t mind / I quite like / I’m crazy about

    I can’t stand / I’m not very keen on / I hate

  T: It’s your attitude towards  music styles in general. But  when you listen to music or a song you experience either positive or negative emotions. How to describe your feelings? Here are some phrases. Let’s have a look and write them down.

b) Listening. Exercise 1 p. 149

   Listen to the six pieces of music and identify each type.

Now describe your feelings and emotions you experienced after each piece of music. Use the phrases above.
