Greeting

Greet the pupils as they arrive and settle down: “Come in, please. Sit down, please.” Nice to see you. How are you doing today? Today we will go on talking about education, compare the educational systems in the UK and Ukraine, talk about Conditional Sentences 1.

Students answer the questions the teacher asks.

Vocabulary work

Students write a dictation (a lyceum, a gymnasium, a secondary school, a language school, headmaster, psychologists, compulsory, nature study, applicants, humanities, a nursery school, a boarding school)

Students listen Tim Hardy about his studying at school

Reading comprehension

Students read the text “Should Students Get Paid for Good Grades?” and discuss it in groups.

Students do a few tasks on Conditional Sentence 1:

Students write a short paragraph on the things they like or don’t like about going to school.
