Мета:  1) навчальна: поглибити та роширити знання учнів про Великобританію, формувати навички читання та говоріння, вчити виділяти головну інформацію із почутої ;  

2) розвиваюча: розвивати навички   усного мовлення, говоріння, аудіювання,  розвивати мовну здогадку та мовленнєву реакцію, вміння співпрацювати в групі;

3) виховна:  виховувати  усвідомлення  важливості розвитку культури суспільства та знань, відповідальне ставлення до навчання, інтерес до країни мову якої вивчаємо

The United Kingdom

1.              The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland  is situated on islands to the north-west of Europe.
2.              The UK consists of four parts — England, Scotland, Wales and Nothern Ireland.
3. The capital of the UK is London. It stands on the Thames  River.  The longest river in Great Britain is the Severn.
4.              The flag of the UK is made up of three crosses. It is red, white and blue. The English call their flag "the Union Jack" because it unites flags of all parts of the UK.
5.              The highest mountain of the UK is Ben Nevis. It is in Scotland.
6. British money is called pounds and their coins are pence.
7.              People of the UK keep their traditions. There is still the Queen in the country. She is the head of the United Kingdom.
8.              I have learnt the Englishmen are great home lovers, and have their own house. I have heard that the British  are very polite people.
