Jingle Bells
Dashing through the snow
On one-horse open sleigh,
Over the field we go,
Laughing all the way,
Bells on bob-tail ring,
Making spirit bright,
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight, oh…
Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride
In one-horse open sleigh!
A day or two ago,
The story I must tell
I went out on the snow
And on my back I fell,
A gent was riding by
In one-horse open sleigh
He laughed as there I sprawling lie
But quickly drove away, oh!..
The main part of the lesson
At the previous lesson we discussed the grammar material, it was Tag Questions.
Explanation. This type of question consists of two parts. The first part is a declarative sentence, the second - a short general question. The second part consists of the subject expressed by the personal pronoun corresponding to the subject of the first part and the auxiliary or modal verb. If the first part of a question is affirmative, the second is negative. If the first is negative the second is affirmative.

But six days later, on New Year Eve the Scotch begin to enjoy themselves. All the shops and factories are closed on New Year’s Day. People invite their friends and «sit the Old Year out and the New Year in». When the clock begins to strike twelve, the head of the family, goes to the front door, open it wide and holds it until the last stroke. Then he shuts the door.
