Theme: I have got a toy

Objectives:  

• to introduce the new structure “I have got”
• to introduce the new words “Santa”, “present”
• to practice the new structure
• to practice the new words

Outcomes: by the end of the lesson pupils will be able to use

• the structure “I have got” telling about their toys
• the new words “Santa” and “present”

Materials: PB, WB, audio, ball, Santa’s bag with alphabet cards, picture of Santa, paper presents

Type of the lesson: combined

Procedure

I. Greeting

II.Warming up

1. Talking

-Look at the blackboard. It is our guest, his name is Santa. Let’s greet him “Hello, Santa”.

-До маленьких англійців на Різдво приходить Санта та дарує їм подарунки.

-А хто приходить до маленьких Українців? На які свята?

-Ми бачимо, що Санта не з пустими руками і до нас прийшов, а приніс багато подарунків, у кожному з них для вас є цікаве завдання. Англійською мовою подарунок – present. Let’s repeat presents.

2.Ball game

-Щоб відкрити перший подарунок треба відповісти на нескладне питання.

-What is this? (It is a present)

-The first task from Santa names “Play a ball game”

-I’ll pass you a ball and ask questions and you must pass me a ball and answer my questions.

• What’s your name?
• How are you?
• How old are you?

3.Santa’s bag.

-Давайте відкриємо наступний подарунок.

-What is this? (It is a present)

-I have Santa’s magic bag. Get off your task. This is alphabet cards. Work in pairs and compare letters and pictures with animals.

-Look at the screen and let’s check.

-Давайте відкриємо наступний подарунок із завданням.

-What is this? (It is a present)

-Look at the picture. Who is this? (He is Santa)

-Listen to his words. Let’s repeat and translate. (Hello! I am Santa. I have got presents. Ho ho ho!)

IV.Practice

1.Game “Elephant, palm-tree, toaster”

-Давайте відкриємо наступний подарунок із завданням.

-What is this? (It is a present)

-Let’s make circle around me. I’ll point out any pupil with the word “Elephant/ palm-tree/ toaster” and you must show a figure of elephant or palm-tree or toaster.

2.Toys presentation.

-Давайте відкриємо наступний подарунок із завданням.

-What is this? (It is a present)

-Ви знаєте, що Санта дарує подарунки дітям, особливо він любить старанних, слухняних та наполегливих. Давайте покажемо Санті чого ми навчились. Кожен розкаже яку він приніс з собою іграшку за допомогою слів “I have got…”

3.Work with cards.

-Давайте відкриємо наступний подарунок із завданням.

-What is this? (It is a present)

-You have a card with a toy on your desk. Let’s tell each other about your toy with the words “I have got a…”

4.WB

V.Ending.

-Наш гість вже поспішає та переплутав речення з зображеннями подарунків.

-Look the screen and correct Santa’s mistakes.
