Урок

Підтема: Професії. Робота

Практична мета:

• ознайомити учнів з новими ЛО та відпрацювати їхню вірну вимову, тренувати їх вживання під час виконання різноманітних усних вправ;
• практикувати учнів у читанні тексту;
• розвиток мовленнєвої компетенції учнів з теми, робота в парах і в групах під час роботи над тематичним текстом;
• навчати учнів відтворювати знайому і нову інформацію.

Розвиваюча мета:

• розвивати мовленнєві здібності учнів: мовну здогадку, різні види пам’яті (слухову, зорову, оперативну, тривалу), уяву;
• використовувати специфічні знання з інших предметів;
• розвивати здатність знайти і використовувати необхідну інформацію для практичних цілей і будувати «нові знання»;
• розвивати в учнів уміння переносити знання та навички в задану ситуацію;
• розвивати здібності самостійно планувати мовленнєві дії із застосуванням нового матеріалу;
• удосконалювати комунікативні здатності учнів.

Виховна мета:

• важливість вибору життєвого шляху;
• виховувати в учнів здібності до співпраці, культуру спілкування, доброзичливості, активності, працьовитості та позитивного ставлення до англійської мови;
• стимулювати активність учнів: пізнавальну і комунікативну.

Хід уроку

I Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

1) Привітання

T: Good morning! I’m glad to see you. Let’s start our lesson.  I hope you’ll be creative and active during our today’s lesson.

2) Повідомлення теми та мети уроку

T: Today we’re going to speak about professions. We’ll get to know some interesting facts which deal with them, read job advertisements and talk about job requirements, ask and answer about choosing a job and keep a conversation about it.

3) Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу

1. Фонетична розминка

T: Read the sentences. Write the phonetic symbols for the letters in bold type.

A bad beginning makes a bad ending.

Better to do well than to say well.

It is never too late to learn.

1. T: Read the new words and their definitions. Make some sentences with these words.

1. A person whose job is to make men’s clothes, especially somebody who makes suits, etc. for individual customers.

6. A person who creates works of art, especially paintings or drawings.

T: Let’s do some sums and we’ll get to know some interesting facts which deal with the professions mentioned above.

          The six interesting facts below (A-F) include numbers. Write these numbers in figures, and then add them all together. The total will give you the number, which is missing from the other interesting fact (G).

T: Work in pairs. Play the ‘Guess the Profession’ game. Pupil A, write a profession on a piece of paper (teacher, pilot, cook, etc.) Pupil B, try to guess the name of the profession. Ask questions using the adjectives in the box.

T: Read the job advertisements quickly. Which advertisement (A-E) mentions.

T: Read the advertisements on pages 40-41 and match them with the statements below.

5. The applicants for this job need a special education and good analytical abilities.

T: Your homework was to answer the questions on page 39.

Brainstorm.

T: Work in pairs. Take turns asking and answering the questions. How many can you answer?

1. What sort of summer work have you had?

2. How important is the salary in choosing a job?

3. What makes a job good and interesting?

4. What qualities does a boss appreciate in people who work?

2. T: Work in groups. Choose one of the advertisements (pages 40-41) and discuss all the requirements, which are asked. Present the result of your work to the classmates.

3. T: Think which jobs you would rather take or not take estimating your physical abilities.

T: You homework will be to do the exercise 1 on page 40. Make a Top Five List of your favourite jobs. Choose one of them and write an essay. The questions given below can be used as a plan.

4. What education is required to become a specialist in this profession?

5. What opportunities are open for people of the profession?

6. In what way is this profession necessary and useful? Why does it attract people? What makes it popular?

7. Are you suited for this profession? Why?
