Мета уроку: формування практичних вмінь та навичок щодо вивчення лексичних одиниць за темою «Кіно у нашому житті», спілкування в межах теми, відповідей на запитання, доповнення речень, пояснення значення слів, повторення граматичного матеріалу за темою «Займенники», використання лексичного та граматичного матеріалу на практиці.

                                       Cinema in Our Life

Cinema is one of the wonders of the modern world. Its possibilities are really unlimited, because it gives pleasure to millions of people. The history of this kind of art began with the invention of the machine showing films. In 1895 Lumiere brothers demonstrated the first film in Paris, which lasted only one minute. And it was a great success.

Now it’s a very popular kind of art. There’re cinemas in cities and towns. For most people cinema is the means of entertainment and rest. You know the life isn’t simple today and people want to relax a little, sometimes even to laugh. That’s why cinema is considered to be one of the best ways of spending free time.

Usually we see films either at the cinema or on TV. Frankly speaking we see more various films on TV or on a computer because the price of the tickets at the cinema is rather high now. But from time to time we go to the cinema and we prefer to buy tickets at the box-office beforehand. Near the cinema you can see a cinema bill where you can read what films are on and when the show begins. Now everyone can find something to his liking in the broad variety of genres: feature films, horror films, animated cartoons, detectives, adventure and spy films, thrillers, blockbusters, westerns, comedies, historical films, fantasy, documentary or popular science films and a lot of others. Besides films may be color or black and white, sound or silent, dubbed in your mother tongue or original.

Making a film is a very complicated and difficult thing. Many people working at a film studio take part in the film shooting: a producer, a film director, a script-writer, a camera-man and many others.

Cinema is loved by people in many countries. That’s why nearly every year different film festivals are held. The most popular of the them are film festivals in Cannes (France), Venice (Italy), Los Angeles (the USA), Moscow (Russia), Odessa (Ukraine) and “Oscar” in Hollywood. The most talented actors and actresses are awarded with prizes.
