The Third Form
Topic: Sports
Objectives: to introduce new vocabulary: play volleyball, skate, skip, play basketball, do gym, do judo, play table tennis;
to form lexical language competence;
to acquaint students with the structures isn't, aren't;
to form a grammatical language competence;
to activate the vocabulary of the topic;
to form speech competence of pupils on the theme "Sports";
to raise interest in learning English, positive attitude to the sport.
By the end of the lesson pupils will be able to: learn new words, use the structures isn't, aren't, answer the questions, make up sentences.
Equipment: cards with pictures, a microphone, cards with structures, an interactive board, a computer, students’ books .
Procedure.
I. Introductory part.
1. Greeting (1 min.)
Good morning, girls and boys! Sit down, please.
How are you? How old are you? What day is it today? What month is it now? Do you like to run? Can you jump? Can you play football? Are you good at tennis?
2. Explaining the aim of the lesson. (1min.)
Today we are going to listen, to read, to learn new words and structures, to match, to make a dialogue, to sing and so on.
Are you ready for today’s lesson?
II. Main part of the lesson.
Meet Mister Tongue, children. He will teach you to pronounce the sounds correctly. He asked me to help you. Put your tongue between your teeth. Do like this [ θ ], [ ð ] Repeat these sounds and the words, please.(think, this, that) .
And now let`s pronounce the sound [æ]. Open your mouth wide Repeat [æ], [æ] ,[æ].. And in the words: (lamb, cat, . )
And now let`s pronounce the sound [ g ]. Do like this: frog, dog, hop, trot.
Now read the words all together.
Listen to the poem ``It`s Fun`` and be ready to read it.

Children, look at the boy and say: Does he like sports? And then you do some tasks. Now I’ll divide you into two groups. The task of the first group is listen and say true or false. The task of the second group is choose the right answer. And now listen to the tape recorder.
This is Tom. He is a sportsman. Tom likes to play football. He usually plays football after his lessons. Tom dreams to be a good football player. He regularly does exercises. On Saturday Tom and his friends play football at the stadium. The boy likes playing football very much.

4. Early to bed and early to rise make a man healthy, wealthy and wise.
5. After dinner sit a while, after supper walk a mile.
