Travel agent: I can. I invite you to visit travel agency.
(This dialogue helps to repeat some grammar questions Present Simple, Present Continuous, Past Simple, Future Simple, Present Perfect)
Travel agent: You are welcome. What can I do for you?
P1: We’d like some information about holidays.
T ravel agent: What can I do for you?
P1: We’d like some information about holidays. We’d like to go somewhere interesting.
T.A.: Somewhere interesting?
P2: We want to go somewhere exiting.
T.A.: Oh, I see. How about the Sahara Desert?
P2: The Sahara Desert?
T.A.: Yes. Have you ever been there?
P1: No, we haven’t.
T.A.: Well, this is the holiday for you 20 days in the middle of Sahara Desert.
P1: In the middle of the Sahara Desert? Is there anything to do?
T.A.: Oh, yes, there is plenty to do. Have yon ever been in a sand storm?
P2: A sand storm? No, vve haven’t.
T.A.: Oh, well. It’s very exiting. There are storms nearly every day. And lots of dangerous snake. Have you ever been bitten by a dangerous snake?
P2: No. I don’t like it. It’s dangerous.
P3: How much is it?
T.A.: 800 pounds.
P1: That’s very expensive.
T.A.: Ah, I see. You want something cheaper. How about the Arctic Ocean? Have you ever been to the Arctic?
P1: No, we haven’t. And how much is it?
T.A.: 600pounds.
P1: Have you got anything a little bit cheaper?
T.A.: Cheaper... well. I don’t know. Let me see... Oh, yes. Now this is a holiday to remember. The Amazon jungle. Have yon ever been to the Amazon jungle?
P2: No, we haven’t.
T.A.: Well, this may be the holiday for you. We drop you into the middle of the Amazon jungle by parachute.
P2: By parachute?
T.A.: Yes, we drop you into the middle of the Amazon jungle, with a map...
P2: Oh, I don’t think we’d like that. It sounds very dangerous.
T.A.: But you said you wanted an exciting holiday. Well, have you ever been to London? You ’ll visit the Trafalgar Square, Westminster, the British Museum, the lungs of London: Hyde Park, St. James Park.
P3: That sounds marvelous. We’ll take it.
P1: After a conversation at a travel agency we decided to travel to London. It’s very interesting to see Hyde Park, meet native speakers, visit interesting places. Travel agent: I have some information about traffic in London. It will be useful for you. When you come to London, you can think that something is wrong with a traffic. In London and in other towns of England the cars and buses go on the left side of the street, and not on the right. In England people must look first to the right and then to the left. All the buses in London have a conductor. People pay him the fee. The conductor gives them tickets and change. Are there any questions?
P2.: Dear teacher! But we haven’t decided what things we have to take when we travel abroad.
T.: let’s discuss in groups this problem
Our group offers to take
Passports
Souvenirs
Cameras
Umbrellas
A supply of food
First Aid kit
Medicines
T.: But those who wish to travel either for pleasure or on business have to decide how they travel. And now you have to discuss the ways of travelling. Let’s work in groups. What transport can we use?
Work in groups
P1: If we are in a hurry and want to save our time, we’d better travel by plain because it is the fastest way of travelling.
P2: Travelling by air is more comfortable, more convenient and much quicker than by any other means of transport. People take a plain when they are travelling on business.
P3: While travelling by train you can see the country' you are travelling across and not only the clouds when you are flying.
P4: There are passenger trains, goods trains and mail trains. Passenger trains carry goods and mail trains carry passengers and mail. There are also long-distance trains. They are fast trains. Local trains make all the stops and you can get on or off a local train at a very small station, even if it is only a platform.
P5: if you are going to a distant place, a sleeping compartment is very comfortable. Local trains have carriages with wooden seats as passengers make only a short trip.
P6: There are ocean liners, ice-breakers, speed boats, tugs, passenger and freight ships, first-class motor ships.
T.: I see you have done this. But don’t forget that you are going to travel to London. Today you are lucky to learn more about different ways of travelling. The representatives of different tour agencies will tell us about the advantages and disadvantages of different ways of travelling.
P1: Friends! I’m fond of travelling. My hobby is to go sightseeing. I have already visited many towns, some cities in Ukraine. I used different ways of travelling, of course: train, plane, bus, car. But I never address to the tourist companies. I don’t want to have problems with seats. They often want to have inconvenient time to leave. Moreover, I hate these herds of tourists, which are guided by the guide. You ride top speed after him and at sight. And my last argument is money. If you travel yourself you pay less and save money for the next trip.
P2: I don’t agree with you. We bought a tour to France. These days were unforgettable. We saw many sights learned much interesting information about this country. Thanks to your company we had no problems with hotels, documents, transport.
P3: I’d like to add. A professional guide is very useful. You listen to his stories and explanations. I advise you to listen to the representatives of British Companies.
T.: Listen to them and don’t forget to note the advantages and disadvantages of every7 way of travelling.
P1: I represent here the Britain Airline Company. Travelling is very popular nowadays. Go to a railway station, a port or an airport in this country' or abroad and you’ll see hundreds of people who want to go somewhere and to get there as quickly as possible. There is no doubt that the fastest way of travelling is by plane. With a modem airliner you can travel in an hour to a place which takes a day to travel by train. Using our plains you can get to any comer of the world. Travelling by plain you can have an enjoyable time in comfortable armchairs. There is nothing like travelling by plain. Welcome to our modem airliners. Have a happy landing!
P2 : I represent British Rails. British rails welcome you to travel by our trains. We agree that travelling be train is slower than by plain, but it nevertheless has its advantages. You can see the country you are travelling across and not only the clouds when you are flying. There are sleepers and dining cars in passenger trains which make the longest journey enjoyable. You can also make friends with other passengers. Besides, it is very' expensive to travel by plains and they don’t fly in bad weather. When you go by train you have speed and comfort combined. Have a comfortable journey!
P3 : I represent here Sea Voyage Agency. I agree that travelling by ship is not very fast. But as for me, there is nothing like travelling by ship. Travelling by
sea you can breathe fresh air and see beautiful landscapes, standing on the deck of the ship. You can dream watching the marvelous sea-sunset. Have a comfortable voyage!
T.: And now let’s discuss the advantages and disadvantages of different ways of travelling.
Travelling by plane
Advantages
The fastest way sit comfortable read, eat, sleep
Disadvantages
Can see only clouds expensive can’t stop where you like don’t fly in bad weather are often delayed
Travelling by rails
Advantages
Can make friends can see country there are sleepers, dining cars comfort and speed
Disadvantages
Can’t stop where yon want not the fastest
Sea voyage
Advantages
Breathe fresh air watch sea-sunset
Disadvantages

T.: And now Fm sure that you have just noticed advantages and disadvantages of these ways of travelling. Thank you very much. This information is very useful for us. And now it is high time to choose our way of travelling.
P1.: I think we must travel by train because there is a big railway station in our town and it's absolutely enjoyable to travel by train.
IV. Conclusion
P5: So, we’d like to travel because we learn English and want to meet native speakers, to master our English pronunciation. It’s very useful to visit new countries. We like to receive new impressions, meet new friends, to learn traditions. People like a change.
We want to visit London because we have read a lot about places of interest and want to see them with our own eyes.
P6: When people travel abroad they take some necessary things. We’d like to take some souvenirs, cameras, medicines and of course a good song.
Those who wish to travel have to decide how they travel. We decided to travel by train because it is not expensive, we’ll have speed and comfort.
