Unit:       IN AND OUT OF SCHOOL

Topic:  SCHOOL ACTIVITIES. SCHOOL ROOMS.

Тип уроку: урок формування вмінь і навичок

Objectives:  ознайомити з новими лексичними одиницями. Формувати навички вживання зворотів  There is  та Тhere are  в мовленні. Розвивати мовну здогадку та мовленнєву реакцію учнів. Виховувати доброзичливе ставлення до співрозмовників.

Level: А1+

Equipment: an interactive whiteboard (IWB), a computer, a book, presentation                    “ School   Activities”

 

                                    ХІД УРОКУ

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного матеріалу.

1. Greeting.  1. Привітання

   T:-Good afternoon, dear children.  Nice to meet you. How are you today?

2. Aim     2. Повідомлення теми та мети уроку.

Т: Look at the interactive whiteboard (IWB) and try to guess what  we are going to speak about( Slide 2). Where are the children ? Are they at home? Do they like school? Why do you think so? Today you’ll practise the new vocabulary and grammar in different structures. By the end of the lesson you’ll be able to tell us what things there are around us.

3. Warming up. 3. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу.

T: - Look at the interactive whiteboard (IWB) and fill in the gaps.( Slide 3)

 

 

 

 

4.Check on homework.  4. Перевірка домашнього завдання.                                          Вправа 4. The children’s plans are fixed on the board.  2-3children present plans of their school.

II. Основна частина уроку.

1.Presenting Vocabulary.   1. Подання лексичного матеріалу по темі.

Т:-Today you’ll learn some new words. So let’s open our textbooks on page 11 and look through  the Vocabulary Box.    (Children repeat new words after the teacher)                                                                                      -Make up  sentences using new words.

2. Writing.                                                                                                                   Match activities and places. Make up 6 sentences and write them down. (Slide 4)

Example: Children play tennis on the court.

3. Reading and Speaking

 T:- Let’s do  ex.1,p.10. Have a look on Emma’s school’s website. Ask and answer in pairs.                                                                                                                               1. What’s her school called?(Green Bush School)                                                               2. Where is it? (in Liverpool)                                                                                                  3. How many students are there?(300)                                                                                       4. How many students are there in each class? (18)                                                                      5. What kind of activities can you do? (Chess, Choir, Computing/IT, Public Speaking, 1^st Aid, Orchestra, Drama Group, Film Club, Swimming)                                           6. How many subjects are there all together? (16)                                                                     7. What subjects or activities can you see in the pictures? (Chemistry, football, swimming, Design and Technology,  choir, orchestra, IT)

Now we can summarize ( Slides 5-8) 

-Look at the pictures and make up sentences using THERE IS or THERE ARE.  (Slide 9)

Grammar game.

Клас поділено на групи по 5 учнів. Кожна група отримує набір карточок(5 шт). Завдання:взяти по 1 карточці і вишикуватись якнайшвидше,щоб отримати правильне речення.

There/ is / a / cat / on the bench.

There/ are / pens /in the / bag.

There/ is / a / poster / on the wall.

There/ is / a library / in  our / school.

There/ is / a canteen  / on the / ground floor.

 

 

Practise questions with Is there/ Are there. (Slide 8)

- Make your own questions in the same way and answer them. Work in pairs.

Заключна частина.                                                                                              1. Homework.   1. Домашнє завдання.                                                        

T:   -Your home task is to read  the text and answer the question(ex. 4,p.12)

Do exercise 3,p.11. Answer the questions about your own school.                                –Are there more than 200 pupils in your school? Is there a playground next to school? Is there an assembly hall in your school? Are there any posters on the walls in your English classroom? Is there a strict teacher in your school?
