The subject: Holidays, Party
The aim: by the end of the lesson pupils will be able to name holidays,
The objectives: - introduce new vocabulary “Christmas”, “Easter”, “Birthday”,”New Year”, “Mother’s Day”;
-distinguish the meanings of the words
-apply the words in given situations
-motivate pupils to study English ;
- develop skills of memory, collaboration, critical thinking
- bring up respectful attitude to friends.
The equipment: multimedia system, a soft toy, a small ball, paper masks
We have got a guest today. Who is he? Right. He is Smiley. He invites us on holiday
Lets greet with him.
The pupils standing in a circle greet Smiley (a soft toy) with words: Hello. My name is… Nice to meet you.
Then the pupils work in inner and outer circle with the same phrases.
2) Game ”Simon says. Pupils can do the actions only in case they hear the words “Simon says”.
3)Revising numbers.
Game “ Mingle”. Pupils make a circle and move around the classroom while the teacher says Mingle, but when teacher says a number, the students should group up according to the heard figure. Those who are odd are left out of the game. The winner is the last group of the participants.
5.Listen to the song “ I can run” , and do the actions which you hear in the song.
6.Game «Let’s go to the party» The task is: to take smth beginning with the first letter of your name. For example: My name is Myroslava. I take a monkey.
7.Work with flashcards. The teacher demonstrates actions that the pupils can do at the party. The pupils must repeat the actions and show them with mimes and gestures. Exercise “Missing flashcard”.
The teacher puts flashcards in different places of the room, the pupils in pairs come and look for the card the teacher names.
Game «Where is a lie».Children make a circle. First the teacher tells 3 sentences concerning the actions she can do on the party. One of them is a lie. The task is to guess a “lie”
Model: I run
I dance
I have a cake
The pupil who guessed the “lie” has the right to tell his sentences.
