Тема “Weather and Сlothes” TV Show

За підручником O. Карп’юк, з використанням мультимедійного обладнання.

Тип уроку – розвиток мовленнєвих умінь.

Цілі уроку:

• вчити учнів робити повідомлення на основі мовленнєвої ситуації, обґрунтовуючи свої думки;
• довести до автоматизма мовленнєві навички на рівні зв’язного висловлювання,
• удосконалювати навички читання, аудіювання та усного мовлення, використовуючи зорові опори;
• розвивати мислення та увагу,
•  виховувати ввічливість, взаємоповагу та взаємодопомогу.

Обладнання: підручник для 5 класу (О. Карп’юк , видавництво «Астон», 2013 рік), персональний комп’ютер, мультимедійна дошка, презентація, відео, аудіододаток роздавальні картки.

Хід уроку.

І.Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

1. Привітання та повідомлення теми та мети уроку.

T. -  Hello,friends!Hello, guests! Glad to see you! Today I am not just a teacher. I am a speaker of the TV channel. And you are the spectators and participants. So welcome to our show!

T. - The proverb says ...  When two Englishmen meet their first talk is about … weather

T. - In England people like to speak about it. The weather is so changeable there that the English often say   “We have no… climate”. The English also say that they have three types of weather: when it rains in the afternoon, when it rains in the morning, when it rains all day long. Sometimes it rains so heavily that they say “It’s raining… cats and dogs” (Діти доповнюють прислів’я, а потім ці слова з’являються на слайді)

T. - Let’s try to guess the name of our channel.

T. - So, as you’ve already guessed today we’ll speak about the weather.

 What can you do when the weather is bad?

What kind of weather do you like?  Why?

ІІ. Основна частина уроку.

1. Узагальнення лексико-граматичного матеріалу. 

Seasons - Quiz

T. - Englishmen like all the seasons, all kinds of weather. Every season is good in its own way. Each person likes this or that season.

Guess what season I am speaking about:

• It is frosty. The temperature is about 20 degrees below zero. (winter)

• The weather is rainy. It’s cloudy. (autumn)

• It is hot. Children have holidays.  (summer)

• Snow is melting. The trees are blooming. (spring)

2. Writing. Робота в групах.    (Спокійна музика)

The pupils have cards with sentences and they have to complete them.

3. Listening. T. - Now it’s time for the weather report.

What’s the weather forecast?

T. - There are different kinds of the weather all around the world. This is because different places have different climates. Let’s see what the weather is like around the world today. My friends are journalists. They have prepared the weather reports. I propose  to listen to them  and fill in the table.(Учні у ролі журналістів знайомлять з погодою в різних містах світу)

England (дощ)     – Hi! I am Helen. I’m from London. It was cloudy this morning. It’s cool. It’s 12 above zero. It’s raining very hard. I’m wearing a raincoat, a hat, jeans and boots. I’ve got an umbrella but I’m wet through. I’m going to drink a cup of tea at the café.

T. - Thank you, Helen. Rainy days are so boring! Let’s listen to Los Angeles.

Los Angeles (спів пташок)    -  Hi! This is Dan from Los Angeles. It’s a nice morning, isn’t it? It’s 27 above zero. It’s sunny. I’m hot. I am wearing a T-shirt, a cap, shorts and sandals. I’m going to swim. Bye!

T. - It’s a lovely day. Thank you, Dan. Oh, Angel is waiting for us!

 Lviv (хуртовина)   – Hello! This is Angel and I am in Lviv now. It’s cold today. It’s 4 below zero. It’s snowy. I’m wearing a jacket, a hat, trousers and mittens. But I feel terribly cold. I’m going to ski.

T. - Thanks, Angel. Have a nice day. Let’s see to our region.

Kyiv (вітер) – Hi! I’m Kristine. I’m in Kyiv. The weather is cool and windy. It’s 3 above zero. I am wearing a hat, an overcoat, a sweater, pants, gloves and boots. I’m going to fly a kite with my friends.

T. - Bye, Kristine! 

- Children you have just listened to the weather forecast and you have to fill in the table. (Діти прослухали прогноз погоди і повинні заповнити таблицю: як звали журналіста, звідки він веде репортаж, яка там погода, у що він одягнений та що збирається робити)  Перевірка  заповнених таблиць.

4. Систематизація лексичних навичок.

Clothes game: auction   T. - The auction will continue our TV-show.

Englishmen say "There is no bad weather, there are bad… clothes"

T. - Buy the right sentences:

When it's hot I put on my cap and sandals.

When it's snowy I put on my raincoat and shoes.

When it's cloudy I put on my jacket and take my umbrella.

When it's hot I don't put on my coat and mittens.

When it's rainy I put on my raincoat and boots.

When it's cold I put on my scarf and mittens.

When it's cool I put on my hat and sandals.

When it's my birthday party I put on my sport suit.

When it's time to go to bed I put on my pаjamas.

T.  -So all sentences are sold. Next program is music. Let’s make a big circle.

6.  Тренувальні комунікативні вправи.

Подання тексту для аудіювання. “Why do I have to wear clothes?”

1)Етап підготовки до аудіювання.

T. - Do you like to watch films? Look at the screen.  (Відео)

“Why do I have to wear clothes?”

• to look nice;
• to go outside in cold weather;
• to protect feet;

2) Етап аудіювання.  

T. - You are going to listen to the dialogue and give the answer…

3) Перевірка змісту прослуханого діалогу.

-  What clothes does the girl wear?                     -Why does the girl wear the clothes?

1)    a coat;

2) a wollen scarf;

3) a woolen hat;

4) a raincoat;

5) a swimming costume;

6) shoes;

 7) a party dress;                                               

 

a) to look nice;

b) to go outside in cold weather;

c) to protect feet;

 d) when it's windy outside;

e) to keep her dry;

 f) to be very warm on the beach;

 g) to keep her head warm;

 

 

 

T. - Listen to the story again  and match clothes with the purpose the girl wears them. (3minutes)

T. - It’s time to speak about fashion.

I am going to put my …on   (sweater, jacket, T-shirt, shorts, cap, sandals, shoes, boots, trainers,  coat, hat, scarf, mittens, gloves, raincoat, trousers, jeans, skirt, dress)

8. Game “The Smartest”.

 –Solve the riddles now and show you are the smartest.

• You wear them on your feet in winter.
• You put it on your head.
• You wear them when you sleep.
• Girls wear it on the beach.
• You put it around your neck.
• You wear them on your feet at home.

III. Заключна частина уроку.

1.Домашнє завдання. 

T.- Your home task for the next lesson is on the screen. Make up your riddles about clothes and weather. Is everything clear?

 Діти по черзі говорять, чому вони навчилися на уроці, прикрашають шаблон дерева своїми фішками: літо-листочками, зима-сніжинками, осінь-яблуками, весна-квітами.

T. - And look at the tree! It is beautiful. It means that any seasons are wonderful.
