Мета:

Практична:

• тренування у розрізненні завершених/повторюваних дій в минулому;

• тренування у розрізненні дій, які відбувалися одночасно, перебували в розвитку чи були перервані іншою дією в минулому;

• тренування у висловлюваннях щодо опису дій у The Past Progressive Tense;

• закріплення у мовленні вихованців складені прикметники;

• удосконалення навичок непідготовленого говоріння.

Виховна:

-виховувати толерантне ставлення один до одного.

How are things?

2.Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу. Повідомлення теми заняття.

- How many lessons did you have yesterday?

- Did you do youк homework in English yesterday?

- What were you doing from 7 till 8 yesterday?

- So, today we’re going to speak about actions in the past.

3. Активізація набутих знань, активізація у мовленні вихованців складених прикетників

-Have a look at the board and match the words in order to make compound adjectives.

Slides 4-9

-Have a look at the pictures and describe them with the help of the compound adjectives.

4. Основна частина заняття. Введення в мовлення The Past Simple/ The Past Continuous Tenses

4.1. Мовленнєва ситуація. Введення часових форм у комунікативній ситуації

Guess what! I was walking down the street yesterday when suddenly I saw Kevin jogging along. I waved at him and he smiled me back.

• Which two tense forms are used in the situation?

• (SB) Open your textbooks at page 21. Have a look at the rules on the right. Read them aloud and translate them. Match the verbs in bold with the rules about uses of the Past Simple and the Past Continuous Tenses.

4.2. Опрацювання правил та прислівників часу, характерних для виучуваних часових форм.

-Let’s sum up the rules. Have a look at the scheme and try to explain it.

-Match the adverbs of time with the correct tense forms.

-Explain the formation of the Past Simple and the Past Continuous Tenses.

- Complete the chart. One of the verbs cannot be used in the Continuous group.

- B, p. 21 (SB) Split into pairs the way you sit. Do the exercise together. You have 5 minutes to complete it. Match the sentence beginning 1-8 with endings a-h.

• C, p. 21 (SB) Complete the text below with the Past Simple or the Past Progressive of the verbs in brackets. Use the Past Progressive wherever you can.

Extra activities

There are some cards on the teachers table. One of the students take a card. All the rest have to ask him/her questions in the Past Progressive. If one of them uses the same phrase which is written on the card then it means it’s his/her turn to take the card and continue the game.
