                                       Scotland

Scotland is a part of the United Kingdom. It is located in the north of Great Britain. The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh, which is famous for its old castle and festivals. Glasgow is the largest city and known for its music and art.

 Scotland has many mountains, lakes, and forests. The Highlands are beautiful and popular with tourists. There are hundreds of islands around the coast. The weather is often rainy and cool.

People speak English, and in some areas, they also speak Scottish Gaelic. Scottish people celebrate many traditions. They wear kilts on special occasions.

Bagpipes are traditional musical instruments. Scotland is also famous for its castles and whisky.

The Scottish flag is blue with a white cross. Haggis is a traditional food made with meat and spices.

Scottish people enjoy walking in nature. In winter, some go skiing in the mountains. Schools teach both English and Scottish history.

 Children wear school uniforms. The national animal is the unicorn. It can be seen on buildings and symbols. Every August, the Edinburgh Festival takes place.
