A Busy Saturday

Last Saturday, the Miller family had a typical busy morning. They were all doing their household chores. Mrs. Miller was making the beds and tidying up the living room when the doorbell rang. It was her sister. Mr. Miller was outside, washing the car and mowing the lawn. While he was doing that, he saw a neighbour’s cat climbing the fence.

Their son, Tom, was supposed to wash the dishes after breakfast, but he was secretly playing a video game in his room. When his mother opened the door, she saw him. "Tom!" she said, "You haven't done your duties yet!" Tom immediately turned off the console and ran to the kitchen.

Their daughter, Lisa, was very helpful. She was dusting the shelves and watering the plants in the kitchen. She always finishes her chores quickly. Suddenly, the power went out. Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at each other in surprise. It was a good excuse for a short break!
