Тема : Корисні пристрої і їх роль у житті сучасної людини

Мета:

• удосконалювати навички вживання майбутнього часу в англійській мові ;
• розвивати вміння аудіювати текст, ігноруючи незнайомі слова;
• розвивати вміння читати текст, розпізнаючи граматичні явища;
• виховувати в учнів почуття відповідальності .

Обладнання:

• картинки із зображенням сучасних пристроїв;
• картки із завданнями;
• запис тексту носієм мови;
• слайдова програма до уроку.

II Основна частина уроку

 

1. Учитель демонструє  відеосюжети, в яких учні з інших класів розповідають про пристрої, якими вони користуються. Учні повинні здогадатися, про який пристрій  йдеться мова.

According to a recent report, people in Britain spend more time texting than those in most other European countries. There are 60 million people in Britain, but over 70 million mobile phones in use. And these phones send 11 million texts an hour!

     Most people now understand the language of texting- or SMS language- with its numbers and missing letters. It is easier than writing whole words, and it saves time. Many people think this will be bad for the English language, but research shows that young people can still spell properly when they need to.

     27-year-old Melissa Thompson from Manchester in Britain said she was feeling ‘gr8’ when she became the world’s fastest texter. The new champion beat the previous record by almost 10 seconds. She had to write, ‘The razortoothed piranhas of the genera Serrasaimus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human.’ It only took her 25.94 seconds. And as you can see, there is no SMS language in those two sentences. Try it yourself and see how quickly you can do it!

10. EXAM STRATEGY

 

When completing a true/false task,  read the given statement and the text carefully.  Next,  underline the parts of the text that contain useful information.  Remember to rely only on the information given in the text,  not on your general knowledge.

VACUUM SHOES

They may look …  ski boots,  but they are in fact a new concept from Indonesian designer Adika Titut Triyugo.  They are called Foki vacuum shoes and they have a built-in vacuum cleaner that sucks up dust as you walk around your house.

 

 According… research,  on average we spend almost 90 hours every year vacuuming the house.  Furthermore,  doctors say … vacuuming the floor with a traditional vacuum cleaner is bad for your back.  The designer claims that vacuuming with the Foki shoes requires no extra effort and saves time.  You just put them… in the morning and by the end… the day,  your floors and carpets will be clean!

 

 It isn't absolutely clear… long the batteries will last, or how noisy the shoes will be.  Other questions that spring to mind are:  will you be able … lift your feet off the ground easy while the shoes are sucking,  and where will  they store… dirt?  (Possibly in your socks?)

 

  The shoes are certainly not going to win any fashion awards - most people won't want to wear them when they answer the door-but they might make housework much easier… quicker!
