Plastic pollution is currently one of the biggest problems for our planet. Plastic is used to make a lot of things like water bottles, plastic bags andstraws. We can educate ourselves and others about the problem of

plastic pollution and the ways we can help. We can talk to our family

and friends and tell them about the problem and the ways to reduce.

Plastic pollution negatively affects people, animals and animal habitats.

On average, the world is producing 430 million tones of plastic per year –two thirds of which are only used for a short period of time.

Every year the world uses 500 billion plastic bags, 1 million plastic

bottles are purchased every minute around the world, 10% of all waste

generated is plastic.

Recycling is the process of converting waste materials into

new materials and objects. It can prevent the waste of potentially

useful materials and reduce energy usage, air pollution and

water pollution.

         There are some things that can be recycled:

cardboard, magazines, plastic bags, aluminium cans, metal, paint,

plastic bottles, paper, building materials, electronic equipment,

newspapers, steel cans, garden waste.
