Exercise 1.  Read and translate the text. Pay attention to the underlined words.

 

Northern Ireland 

Ireland is a name of an island. It is next to the island of Britain. There are two parts of Ireland: Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Ireland is an independent country. It’s capital is Belfast. Northern Ireland is situated in the north-east of the island Ireland. It’s total area is 13.843 square kilometers. As of 2011, its population was 1,810,863. Northern Ireland is a beautiful country with mountainous territories and green valleys. You will see everything is green, in fact Ireland’s other name is ‘the Emerland Isle’. Green is one of the symbol of Ireland and everybody wears green on Saint Patrick’s Day, the Irish national holiday. Wonderful scenery attracts a lot of tourists who are fond of hiking, sailing, skiing and canoeing. There are lots places of interest in Northern Ireland. Best City in Northern Ireland in European countries is Belfast City. A significant city easy to get around . More than two thirds of population of this country is concentrated in this city, because it is a huge business centre and port of the country.

Causeway Coast. The Causeway Shore is house to many of Northern Ireland’s popular scenery and locations.

Mourne Mountains. Amazing scenery. Belfast created C.S Lewis was inspired by the Mourne Mountain when writing the Experiences of Narnia.

Tollymore Forests Park. Perfect for the awesome with strolling paths, fast rivers and a whole lot of nature.

Rathlin Island. Either way the amazing beach views, powerful cliffs and a large number of nesting Kittiwakes fall short to dissatisfy. Kittiwakes house just meters from the viewing system.

Carrickfergus Castle. It is not the most exciting of locations. Also a little bit off observe with not much of interest nearby.

Portstewart Strand. Unique shoreline and spectacular wealthy rich waters mean little when it’s too cold to keep the car. That is where Portstewart Sequence comes in useful. This long expand of sand works as a drive-on beach.

Strangford Lough. This beach bay is certainly one of the most awesome locations. Stunning towns to wide range of animals. It is also well off the beaten observe so is best taken in on a fly and produce.

Bangor. Bangor has always been a tourist town. A place for beach strolling, sea view bars and younger ambiance.

  1. This city is situated in the north of Great Britain. It is old and very beautiful. Such famous people as R. Burns and Sir Walter Scott lived and worked there. This city keeps a lot of ancient traditions as the Military Tatto, a parade of military men in the traditional uniform which takes place every August in the centre of the city.
  2. This city is situated in the south-west of Great Britain. Its history began with the Roman port which grew up into a modern industrial, commercial and cultural centre. This city is famous for its musical traditions as well as the total love of the population to the national sport – rugby.
  3. This city is situated in the north-east of Ireland. More than two thirds of population of this country is concentrated in this city, because it is a huge business centre and port of the country. Although it is an industrial centre, it is quite green as it has more than forty public parks and attracts a lot of tourists.
