Мета заняття :

Практична: розвиток комунікативних умінь учнів на тему «Проблема вибору професії» через розвиток та вдосконалення умінь читання та говоріння.

• Розвиваюча: розвивати уяву, творче та критичне мислення; розвивати мовні здібності, здатність логічно викладати, розвивати вміння порівнювати, аналізувати.

Обладнання: презентація на тему уроку.

Хід уроку.

1. Организаційний момент.

T: Good morning! Sit down, please. How are you today? I hope everyone is fine and now let’s begin our lesson.

1. Мовна розминка.Повідомлення  теми заняття..

Take your hand-outs and find task 1. Here you should match a word from A with one from B to make five word combinations. You’ve got 2 minutes to do this task. (Слайд 1).

Now let’s check…( get down to work, a job advertisement, different jobs, professional qualities, to describe a profession ).

How can we express these word combinations in some common words?

P1 – Choosing a career.

Yes, you are quite right! So the topic of our lesson today is Choosing a career (teacher writes the topic of the lesson on the blackboard).

1. Розвиток лексичних навичок говоріння.

As you know there are a lot of interesting and useful jobs in the world. Now I’d like you to listen to a poem about a job which is difficult but noble and rewarding. But at first let’s read the words from the poem that might be difficult to you: (слова на дошці: precious – цінний, alight with pain –вражений болем , sensitivity and dedication –чуйність і самовідданність ,healing touch–лікувальний дотик ).

Now listen to the poem and guess what job is meant here.(слайд 2).

There is no gift more precious than one's health.
Happiness must rest upon that ground.
Alight with pain, no pleasure can be found,
Nor joy in love or beauty, words or wealth.
Know that I am grateful for your skill,
Your sensitivity and dedication.
Out of strength, I dreaded all sensation
Until your healing touch restored my will.

So, what job is described here? (the job of a doctor)

Right you are. Now repeat the poem all together, please . Now you’ve got 1 minute to prepare good reading of the poem.

4. Розвиток навичок діалогічної мовлення.

Now answer my questions, please.

1. What words help us to understand that the job of a doctor is described here?
2. What is the most precious gift, in the author’s opinion?
3. Why is the author grateful to the doctor?

All right. And what do you think about the job of a doctor?

5. Розвиток навичок монологічного мовлення. (Слайд 3)

Now look at the board. There are 3 jobs – a teacher, a referee and a salesman. What qualities should people have to do these jobs?

All right. Now I would like you to read 3 job advertisements . Which job (a teacher, a referee or a salesman) is described in each advertisement? Inpairs, discussyouranswers. Doyouagree?

Write three words or phrases from each advertisement which helped you make your decision.

Now rewrite the phrases in italics in the job advertisements using the adjectives below.

8. Розвиток лексичних навичок письма . (Слайд 5)

Now look at the expressions which all use the word WORK. Let’s read and translate them. Use some of the expressions to complete the sentences below.

1. Nurses have to … Sometimes they are … during the day, and sometimes through the night.
2. In my company we … We can start at any time between 8 and 10 in the morning.
3. Salesmen often …, starting early in the morning and finishing late at night.
4. I usually finish work at 5, but I have to … finishing at 7 or 8, I don’t mind because I get paid more money.
5. Before getting this job I was … for six months. It was boring and I had very little money. I’mgladthatI’m … now.
6. I’m finding it very difficult to … at the moment. I keep looking out of the window and day dreaming.

You’ve got 6 minutes. Now let’s check (P 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

Now think and be ready to describe the most interesting or unusual job you have ever heard about. You’ve got 4 minutes to think it over. Use the words from the lesson. (P 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).
