The USA is rich in natural wonders. They are the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite Valley and the Niagara Falls.
The Grand Canyon is indeed a very big hole in the ground. It is the result of constant erosion by the Colorado River over millions of years. The Grand Canyon became a national park in 1919.Many people consider it to be one of the seven wonders of the natural world.
Yellowstone was the first national park in the USA and is also widely held to be the first national park in the world. The Yellowstone Caldera is known as a ‘supervolcano’.
Yosemite Valley is a glacial valley carved out of granite. The glacial valley plus the elevation of the Sierra Nevada also means there are tons of waterfalls, and really big ones.
The Niagara Falls is the tallest waterfall at 57 meters tall and 52 meters deep. It is thought to be the world’s fastest-moving waterfall. About 28 million liters of water travel down the Niagara Falls every second.
