Procedure

1. Greeting and Warm-up (2 minutes)

Teacher greets students and introduces the topic of the lesson.

2. Motivation (3 minutes)

Brainstorming activity: Where do you get information from?

3. Revision of previous knowledge (5 minutes)

Matching activity: types of mass media and pictures.

4. Presentation of new material (10 minutes)

Reading a text from the coursebook about mass media.

Vocabulary focus: source of information, reliable, influence, advertisement.

5. Practice (15 minutes)

Pair work: Which type of mass media do you use most and why?

Group work: Advantages and disadvantages of mass media.

Speaking: short group presentations.

6. Reflection (5 minutes)

Finish the sentences: Today I have learned…, Now I can…

7. Homework (5 minutes)

Optional: Write a short paragraph “The role of mass media in my life”.
