RoundIV The sights of Great Britain.  Captain’s Competition

A good captain is the flag of the team. Let’s begin our captain’s competition.

8.Tower Bridge.This is the most famous bridge in the world situated in London.

9.London Eye. It is one of the world`s tallest observation wheels  (135 meters).

8.The Houses of Parliament. It is the other name of the Palace of Westminster.

9.The Tower of London. The most important fortress in Britain and home to the Crown Jewels.

8.Madame Tussaud`s museum. It`s a famous waxworks museum, which has one of the largest collections of wax models in the world.

9.Westminster Abbey.  It is the traditional place of coronation for English monarchs.

8.Trafalgar Square. It is a famous square in the centre of London with a high column in the middle.

9.The National Gallery. It is an art museum on Trafalgar Square. It houses a collection of over 2,300 paintings dating from the 13^th to 20^th century.

8.The Sherlock Holmes Museum. This London museum situated in Baker Street  is dedicated to a famous fictional detective.

9.Hyde Park . It is one of the largest parks in central London, and one of the Royal Parks, famous for its Speakers` Corner.

8.Buckingham Palace. It is the official residence of Queen Elisabeth II.

9.Windsor Castle. It is the summer residence of Queen Elisabeth II.

8.St Paul`s Cathedral. This cathedral is one of the most famous sights of London. It`s a skyscraper in London`s financial district.

9.“The Gherkin”. This building has become a symbol of London  and is one of the city`s most widely recognized examples of modern architecture.
