Objectives:

• to develop speaking, listening, reading skills;

• to develop students’ imagination;

• to develop quick reaction;friendly rival skills; attentiveness;

• to bring up students to love their country;

• to enlarge students’ curiosity, their wish for learning more about culture of other countries.

I.GREETINGS

Warming up

S1: – the symbol is a rose

S2: – a red double–decker bus

S2: – a five o’clock tea

S1: – a red telephone box

S1: – the Queen

S2: – “the Beatels”

S1: – Guess, what country we are speaking about today?

Students: – Great Britian.

S1: – Oh, you are right. Today we’re having an imaginary journey. Of course, we can   do it only virtually, but we hope it will be interesting for you.

S2: – Not for everybody this journey is virtual, because some of us have been to this wonderful country and today we’re telling you about our impressions and the places we visited last summer.

S1: – At the end of our journey you can learn more and can take part in our test-tour.

S2: – So, are you ready?

S1: – Let’s start.

II. THE MAIN PART

S2: – The first city we’re speaking about is Great Yarmouth. Last summer we went to the international Frisby’s School of English.

S1: – It’s a lovely place.

S2: – Nice city. But you also had a nice chance to practise your English.

S1: – Of course. It was the main purpose of our tour. The school organized an interesting programme so that we could speak English to other students from all parts of the world and could meet British people as much as possible.

S2: – Did you manage to visit any other places of interest?

S1: – Well, our school group visited Cambridge, Norwich, London.

S2: – Nice tour! Now team A and team B, be ready to listen, see and answer.

S2: – If we travelled around Great Britian we can’t stand going to London, the capital of the country, the language of which we’ve been studying for more than eight years.

S1: – We managed to see some sights and interesting places, but still we could learn some information about this famous city despite our stop was very short there. Today you’ll be able to see it (Appendix).

III. SUMMARIZING

S2: – We’ve visited so many places.

S1: – Now it’s time for you to become the agents of tour companies, because I think you have enough knowledge.

S2: –If you had a possibility to go to any place you’d like, what place would you choose?

T.: – I hope now you’ve realized how important and interesting it is to travel and how important it is to learn foreign languages and particularly English so as to communicate freely while travelling. Thank you for your participation and your work.
