In addition to handwritten newspapers in ancient Rome, there were special information walls - "albums": they were whitewashed with lime and divided into rectangles. The texts were written in charcoal and purple. The albums combined various information – from commercial to political; part of the wall was occupied by private announcements and anecdotes.
"Modern" media or mass media developed in the first half of the XX century and are associated with electrification, electronics. These include the mass media (newspapers, magazines, books), mass static images (billboards and leaflets), moving images (cinema and television, websites, computer programs with a visual interface), radio broadcasts or similar means.
