Introduction Everything has its history. We know the definitions, the tools and different types of equipment, installation or outfit, but sometimes we don’t remember or know how it began. In this work I’d like to analyze and show you the history of electricity. It’s an amazing and interesting return to the past to investigate. This article is to show the importance and necessity of my profession of electrician. It is impossible to imagine our civilization without electricity: economic and social progress will be turned to the past and our daily lives completely transformed. Electrical power has become universal. Thousands of applications of electricity such as lighting, electrochemistry and electrometallurgy are longstanding and unquestionable. With the appearance of the electrical motor, power cables replaced transmission shafts, gear wheels, belts and pulleys in the 19-th century workshops. And in the home a whole range of various time and labour saving appliances have become a part of our everyday lives. Other devices are based on specific properties of electricity: electrostatics in the case of photocopying machine and electromagnetism in the case of radar and television. These applications have made electricity most widely used. So, how it happened to born?

History of electrical engineering development Ancient development Thales of Miletus, an ancient Greek philosopher, writing at around 600 B. C., first described a form of static electricity, noting that rubbing fur on various substances, such as amber, would cause a particular attraction between the two. He noted that the amber buttons could attract light objects such as hair and that if they rubbed the amber for long enough they could even get a spark to jump. His principal occupation was engineering He had a profound influence on other Greek thinkers and therefore on Western history.

17th century developments Electricity remained little more than an intellectual curiosity for millennia. In 1600 the English scientist William Gilbert extended the study of electricity and magnetism, distinguishing the effect from static electricity produced by rubbing amber. He coined the new Latin word electricus (the Greek word for "amber") This association gave rise to the English words "electric" and "electricity".

Nowadays this profession is still one of the most actual and necessary. An electrician installs, repairs and maintains assorted electrical equipment, such as wiring a house for lighting or fixing a broken refrigerator. He must ensurethat appliance is installed correctly and safely. The history of the profession of electricians grew out of the public's desire for such devices. New inventions are appearing every day and make our life easier, warmer and longer. Nothing can work without electricity. Conclusions
