Crimea is a territory that includes the Crimean Peninsula, some small islands located next to it, and the Kerch Peninsula. The peninsula is the center of summer recreation for tourists, washed by the Black Sea in the northwest and southeast, and the Sea of Azov in the northeast. The southern coast of Crimea, which is about fl80 km long, has an unusual climate for the surrounding area - protected from the north by the Crimean Mountains, it is located in the subtropical zone, which is why most of the resort towns are located here. Several different cultures are combined here - Crimean Tatar, Ukrainian, ancient Greek, etc. Traveling through the peninsula, you can see ancient basilicas - the remains of Greek city- states, defensive structures of Genoese colonizers, elegant classical estates, palaces of romantic, Gothic, modern, eclectic styles, khanate palaces, Muslim mosques and Christian temples. On the territory of the peninsula there are such outstanding places and historical sights as the Sun Temple, Demerji Ghost Valley, Chufut-Kale Cave City, Foros Church, Love Bay, Genoese Fortresses, Vorontsov Palace, Marble Cave, Swallow's Nest, etc. Unfortunately, Crimea is currently temporarily occupied by Russia, but we hope that the situation will be resolved soon, and we will again be able to visit the most picturesque region of Ukraine.
