1. Being a Ukrainian, I adore Ukrainian national dishes due to their tastes and flavor.
2. I can’t but mention that all products used for cooking grow in Ukraine.
3. Most people in our country prefer fresh vegetables and fruit so our cuisine is healthy.
4. Fast food is not very popular in Ukraine as Ukrainian women enjoy cooking at home.
5. The most popular dish in Ukraine is borshch.
6. It’s a special soup with beetroot, potato, carrot and onion and my mum usually puts some garlic too.
7. There is a proverb “Each hostess has her borshch” as every housewife has her own secret of cooking it.
8. There are many delicious soups that are also very popular in Ukraine: noodle soup, mushroom soup, milk soup, fish soup and others.
9. Holubtsi is another national dish.
10. They are cabbage rolls stuffed with rice and meat.
11. As for me my favourite dish is varenyky stuffed with cottage cheese or mashed potatoes served with sour cream.
12. Other national dishes are holodets, salo, nalysnyky, banush, pampushky, kompot, uzvar etc.
13. I’d like to learn to cook all these dishes in the future.
