Тема: Travelling. Means of transport.
Мета: формувати лексичні навички учнів; розвивати уміння школярів в читанні тексту про подорож; ознайомити з різними видами подорожування; удосконалювати вміння учнів у діалогічному мовленні; формувати вміння вести дискусію ; розширити світогляд учнів щодо особливостей подорожування; розвивати аналітичне мислення, грамотність у побудові запитань; виховувати позитивне ставлення до подорожування та вивчення англійської мови; виховувати всебічно розвинену особистість через отримання інформації.

Хід уроку
І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення
T: Good morning, students.
Ss: Good morning, teacher.
T: Nice to see you.
Ss: Nice to see you too, teacher.
T: How are you today?
Ss: We are fine, thank you.
T: Let’s wake our tongues up. Today we are going to practice sounds [k], [p], [t]. We should pronounce them with some aspiration.
[k] : truck, take, book a ticket
[p] : plane, ship, trip
[t] : taxi, travel, train, tram
T: Look at the screen, you can see a picture. So what do you think about the topic of our lesson? What is it! You are quite right. It is travelling and means of transport.
T: Today, we are going to speak about means of transport and reasons of travelling. You’ll also practice your skills in speaking and reading, listening and writing. I wish you good luck.
T: What means of transport do you know? Look at the screen and name them, please.
ІІ. Основна частина уроку
T: What means of transport can we travel by? Look at the blackboard, unscramble and write them down. (Mind Map “We can travel by”)
Now answer my questions.
T: We can travel by different means of transport and I want to know why people travel. At home you should read a text “What is travelling” (ex. 1, p. 144) and underline the reasons of travelling. Name them, please, and add your own ones. (to see and learn lots of things, to study geography, to get to know and understand people, to see other countries and continents, cities and towns + to study, on business, to rest and for pleasure)
T: And now it is time for practicing your listening skills. Before listening say what your favourite way of travelling is.
T: Listen to the story and find out what way of travelling Mrs Smith has chosen.

T: Choose if the sentences are true or false. (Plickers)
T: I see you are a bit tired. Let’s have a rest and do some physical activity “Shake it out”
T: It is time for work in pairs (cards). You should make up a dialogue and act it out.
ІІІ. Заключна частина уроку
T: Now we’ll sum up our lesson and do it in a form which is called “cinquain”. Let’s learn the rules of such a form.
Structure of “cinquain”
1 line: theme (the main word)
2 line: two adjectives
3 line: three verbs (actions of the main word)
4 line: a sentence (quotation on the topic)
5 line: synonym / antonym of the main word.
T: Our main word is “Travelling”. You should try to use different notions connected with it in order to this structure.
T: Your home task is exercise 5 page 150.
T: Our lesson is over. Did you like it?
