My School

Our school is a fine four-storeyed building in the center of Kyiv in Tarasivska street. The school-building is not very large, but there are many classrooms and specialized rooms for studying different subjects.

The pupils study Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Ukrainian, Russian, English, History, Geography and Biology in specialized rooms.

Chemistry, Physics and Biology are taught in well equipped science rooms. They have cinema and slide projectors, TV-sets. Schemes and tables are on the walls, there is a good equipment for laboratory experiments in the labs. At the lessons we often carry out different experiments and make careful observations.

Mathematics is taught in the science rooms on the third floor. There is a special room equipped with calculators and computers.

There are many specialized rooms for studying English in our school. Tape- recorders and record-players are widely used at our lessons.

There is the Assembly Hall on the first floor of our school. The Assembly Hall is rather large and light. We usually gather there to celebrate holidays. Before the holidays we decorate the Assembly Hall with colourful newspaper, pictures, slogans, baloons and flowers.

On the second floor there is a gym. We like our gym, and we like to spend there the breaks as well as lessons. During the breaks we usually played there basketball or volley-ball. And our classmates and our teachers are out fans.

The dining-room and the canteen are on the ground floor. This is a large hall, clean and light, with white curtains on the windows, pictures on the walls and flowers on the window-silk.

On the ground floor there is a workshop too. There we are taught to use some tools and machines.

Моя школа

Наша школа – гарна чотирьохповерхова будівля в центрі Києва на вулиці Тарасівській. Будівля школи не дуже велика, але в ній є багато класних кімнат і спеціальних кабінетів для вивчення різних предметів.

Учні вивчають математику, фізику, хімію, українську мову, російську мову, англійську мову, історію, географію і біологію у спеціалізованих кабінетах.

Хімія, фізика й біологія викладаються в добре обладнаних кабінетах. Там є проектори кіно й слайдів, телевізори. Схеми й стенди на стінах, також є хороше обладнання для експериментів в лабораторіях. На уроках ми часто здійснюємо різні експерименти й робимо ретельні спостереження.

Математика викладається в класних кімнатах на третьому поверсі. Також є спеціальний кабінет, обладнаний калькуляторами й комп'ютерами.

В нашій школі є багато спеціальних кабінетів для вивчення англійської мови. Магнітофони й відео програвачі широко використовуються на наших уроках.

На другому поверсі нашої школи є актовий зал. Актовий зал великий і світлий. Ми зазвичай збираємося там, щоб відзначати свята. Перед святами ми прикрашаємо актовий зал барвистими газетами, картинами, гаслами, шарами і квітами.

На другому поверсі є гімнастичний зал. Нам подобається наш зал, ми із задоволенням проводимо там як перерви, так і уроки. Протягом перерв ми зазвичай грали там в баскетбол або волейбол. Наші однокласники й викладачі – наші уболівальники.

Їдальня і буфет розташовані на нижньому поверсі. Це великий зал, чистий і світлий, з білими фіранками на вікнах, картинами на стінах і квітками на підвіконні.

На нижньому поверсі також є майстерня. Там нас вчать використовувати деякі інструменти і машини.
