Watching and Listening.

 Peppa Pig. Windy Autumn Day.

Materials and equipment: video of “Peppa Pig” series ( 5 min.), songs  from YouTube:  “Hello -song”(1 min.)(  taken from “Get Ready” , Oxford ), “Learn clothes . Vocabulary”(3 min.), “Weather. Word Power” (2 min.), “Colours” (1,5 min.), flashcards on topics “Weather” and “Clothes”

Theme: Weather and clothes.

Level: Beginner.

Type of the lesson: Summarizing. Skills: listening. Grammar: Revising Present Continuous VS Present Simple.

Objectives: to round up the vocabulary on topics: “Clothes”, “Weather”, “Colours”; to develop listening skills.

PROCEDURE:

1. Greetings. T: Good morning, children! I am glad to see you? Are you glad to greet me? If so, sing “Hello-song”. –Pupils sing.
2. Warming up. T: I wonder, what  the weather is like today. If you are short of words, let’s remember the words on the topic and sing a song. (Flashcards on the topic are on the class-board. Pupils sing along with the track of  “Weather. Word Power” song.
3. Speech practice: the pupil-on-duty monologue.  T: Who’s on duty today? What is the weather like today?  P: I am on duty today. It is spring. It is May. The weather is sunny, but it is cold. It is unusual for May. It is not raining. The sun is shining brightly. I like the weather today. All pupils are present.
4. Revising vocabulary. T: I am glad to hear, that nobody is ill. It’s a pity, that today it is cold. What do we wear when it is cold? Sing a song to remember. (Flashcards on the topic are on the class-board. Pupils sing along with the track of “Learn clothes . Vocabulary” song. )
5. Speech practice. Revising Present Continuous VS Present Simple. T: It’s cold today. I am wearing a warm coat, a suit and shoes. In fact,  I am not wearing a coat just now. But I put it on when I go outside. The temperature is 10 degrees. Usually it is warm or hot in May. What are you wearing today, Taras? P: I am wearing my jacket, trousers and boots. T: What do you usually wear in spring, when it is hot and sunny? P: I wear a cap, a T-shirt, shorts and sandals. Sometimes I put on my sunglasses. T: Taras, ask your neighbor about her clothes. P: Polina. What are you wearing today? P2: I am wearing my hat, my coat, my school jacket and skirt. . T: What do you usually wear in spring, when it is rainy and chilly? P2: : I wear a raincoat and rubber boots. And I take my pretty pink and yellow umbrella.T: NIca colours. Let’s have a rest and sing a song. It’s  “Colours”  T: What is your favourite colour? Let me guess! Is it pink? P2: Yes! I also like yellow. They are my two favourite colours. What is your favourite colour? Let me guess! Is it pink? T: No, far from it. I love blue and red. They are my two favourite colours. And what about you, Vasylyna? P3: I love purple and pink. They are my two favourite colours. T: I am interested to know, what are your favourite games in spring, boys? P: My favourite game is football. What is your favourite, David? P3: My favourite game is football, too. I also like running and jumping. I am in the school team.
6. Watching and Listening.

T: OK, I see, that you are ready for watching and listening now.

You are going to watch a cartoon about Peppa Pig. The name of the film  is “Windy Autumn Day”. Then, answer some questions.
