Урок англійської мови в 10-А класі вечірньої (змінної) школи №20 м. Києва

Тема: Видатні музеї сучасності.

Підтема: вживання to-інфінітиву та bare infinitive

Практична мета:

• практикувати учнів у читанні тексту;
• розвиток мовленнєвої компетенції учнів з теми, робота в парах під час роботи над тематичним текстом;
• навчати учнів відтворювати знайому і нову інформацію.

Розвиваюча мета:

• розвивати мовленнєві здібності учнів: мовну здогадку, різні види пам’яті (слухову, зорову, оперативну, тривалу), уяву;
• використовувати специфічні знання з інших предметів;
• розвивати здатність знайти і використовувати необхідну інформацію для практичних цілей і будувати «нові знання»;
• розвивати в учнів уміння переносити знання та навички в задану ситуацію;
• розвивати здібності самостійно планувати мовленнєві дії із застосуванням нового матеріалу;
• удосконалювати комунікативні здатності учнів.

Виховна мета:

• виховувати в учнів  культуру спілкування, доброзичливість, активність, працьовитість та позитивне ставлення до англійської мови;
• стимулювати активність учнів: пізнавальну і комунікативну.

Обладнання: мультимедійний комп’ютер, відеопроектор, екран (класна дошка)

 

 

 

 

 

Хід уроку

I Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

1) Привітання

T: Good morning! I’m glad to see you. Let’s start our lesson.  I hope you’ll be creative and active during our today’s lesson.

2) Повідомлення теми та мети уроку

T: Today we’re going to visit a few greatest museums . We’ll get to know some interesting facts about their locations and exhibits/

3) Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу

1. Фонетична зарядка:

Let’s revise some tongue twisters:

Why do you cry, Willy?

 Why do you cry?

Why Willy? Why, Willy?

Why, Willy? Why?

 

A black cat sat on the map

And ate a fat rat.

It’s a pity, they were so pretty.

 

 

2. Мовленнєва розминка

Please, answer my questions:

1. What day is it today? What date is it today? What month is it now? What is the weather like today? Is it raining? Is it sunny? How many lessons did you have yesterday? How many lessons will you have tomorrow? When did you have your English lesson last?

II Основна частина уроку

1. Checking on homework

T: Your homework was to prepare a short information  about modern artists, sculptors, architects.

2.  Now we are going to read a presentation about the greatest museums of the world. But before readings let’s get acquainted with some new words/

1) Pre-reading Activities

1. T: Read the new words and their definitions. Make some sentences with these words.

 

1. to exhibit	to show something in a public place for people to enjoy or to give them information;
2. antiquities	things such as buildings, statues, or coins that were made in ancient times and have survived to the present day
3. an exposition	an event at which people, businesses, etc. show and sell their goods;
4. an item	a single object or thing;
5. to contain	if something contains something else, it has that thing inside it or as part of it;
6. to display	to put something in a place where people can see it easily; to show something to people;
7. to include	to make somebody / something part of something;
8. to offer	to say that you are willing to give something to somebody.

 

2. Your next task is to read and translate slides of the presentation about museums (students read, translate and answer the questions of the teacher):

-         Look at the first slide. What can you see on this picture? (Louvre). What do you know about this museum? Where is it situated? What is the greatest exhibits of this museum? (Venus de Milo, Jioconda).

-         Now we are visiting Egyptian Museum. How many items of Egyption antiquities are there in this museum?

-         What are Vatican Museums famous for?

-         Where is Metropolitan Museum situated?

-         When was the British Museum established?

-         Whom was the Hermitage founded by in 1764?

-         Where is the National Palace Museum situated

 

3.  During the next task we will plunge into the English Grammar. We will talk about the infinitive

Перегляд навчального відео про інфінітив. Після перегляду учні переказують основні правила вживання to – інфінітиву та “bare” інфінітиву.

Наступне завдання на засвоєння правил вживання інфінітиву:

а) 1. «I’d like you to join us. Will you give me your room number, Jim?» said Mr. Brown.2. I understood you to have changed your mind. 3. I consider your paper on mouth diseases (to be) brilliant, said Dr. Burton. 4. Everyone in the lobby heard the assistant-manager speak to Dr. Nicholas. 5. He watched the curtain go up. 6. I myself saw Peter hand the papers to Mr. Smith. 7. Do you mean to say it was his father who made him go into politics?

b) 8. He is said to have established another record. 9. The company is known to have been rehearsing the new play for two months. 10. «He happens to be one of the dentists», said Jim. 11. Bill turned out to be a very good translator. 12. They are unlikely to get to the station in time.13. He is certain to have kept the appointment. 14. They are bound to agree to our plan.

c) 15. It won’t be too difficult for you to encourage him. 16. This is for Mr. Burton to decide. 17. The most difficult thing for him to do was to agree to our proposal.

4.  Your hometask for the next lesson is to make up 7 sentences with to-infinitive and 7 sentences with a bare infinitive/
