Scene 1

An actual furnished sitting-room includes a table and chairs. The table is decorated with a bowl of fruit or a vase with fake flowers.

Stepmother is lying on the sofa, speaking on the phone.

 

Stepmother: Hello, Fairy Mother. This is Stepmother  speaking.

Fairy Mother: Hello.

Stepmother: Come to me on a cup of tea.

Fairy Mother: OK. I will come. Thank you.

 

Scene 2

(Hugging) Fairy Mother is entering the sitting room.

 

Hi. How are you? Fairy Mother

Stepmother: Fine. How are you?

Fairy Mother: Everything is OK.

Stepmother: Sit down. Tea? Coffee?

Fairy Mother: Tea, please.

   Stepmother: Black? White?

 Fairy Mother: Black, please

Stepmother: Here you are. Enjoy your tea. The prices are rising higher and higher.

  Fairy Mother: Yes. Constantly. Have you heard the news?

 Stepmother:  Which one?

Fairy Mother: I saw the advertisement that Prince is going to have a party in the palace next Sunday.

Stepmother:  Really?

Fairy Mother: Yes, sure. He is going to invite all the young girls and choose the prettiest to be his wife.

Stepmother: I will go to the party! I’ll be his wife!

Fairy Mother: Are you mad? How old are you? You’re old and not pretty.

Stepmother: Who?! I’m not pretty?! Who says I’m not pretty?! I’m the prettiest in the world! The prince will marry me or my daughter.

Fairy Mother: Your daughters are not nice either.

Stepmother: My daughters?! What do you mean?! Go away!(Pushes the Fairy Mother out of the room.) Never enter my house again! (Fairy Mother goes out)

Scene 3

 

Stepmother(shouting): Daughters! Daughters! Daughters! Come here!

(Two ugly daughters are coming in.)

Two ugly daughters: Yes, mother.

Stepmother: Prince is going to have a party in the palace next Sunday. He is going to  choose the prettiest to be his wife. We are going.

Daughter 1: I’ll be his wife!

Daughter 2: I’ll be his wife! No! I’ll be. I’m prettier.

 

Daughter 1: No!

Scene 4

 

All: stepmother, daughters  running, shouting

 

All: Cinderella!!! Cinderella!!!

Cinderella is coming in with her head down.

Cinderella: Yes, please.

All: We are going to the party!  To the palace! Make the evening dresses for us immediately. For me red! For me blue! For me green!

 

Scene 5

 

Cinderella is sitting and sewing.

Sister 1:  Is my gown ready?

Sister 2:  Is my gown ready?

Stepmother: Is my gown ready?

All: Do it quickly! We must be in time! Work quicker!

 

Scene 6

 

Entering the room

Sister 1:  Give me my gown! We’re going to the party today!

Sister 1:  Give me my gown! We’re going to the palace today!

Stepmother:  Give me my gown! We’re going to the prince today!

Cinderella:( giving their dresses) Here you are. Here is yours. Take it. It’s ready.

Sisters, I also want to go to the party. Take me!

 

Sisters( turning back): Ha-ha-ha! You, so ugly! Look at yourself! Stay at home and do the work until we’re at the party with the prince!(going out)

Cinderella:(crying) I want to go to the party too.

 

Sisters and Stepmother entering the room one by one

Sister 1: Do this till we come(poring the cereal)

Sister 2: Do this till we come(poring the salt)

Stepmother: Do this till we come(poring the sugar). Do everything in time! You, lazy crazy!

(They leave the room)

Sister 1: Do my home assignment in English, history, Science, algebra, geography, chemistry, physics!! I have got seven lessons tomorrow. Don’t copy from Google GDZ!!!

Sister 2: Do my home assignment in French, history, craft, geometry, Ukrainian literature, chemistry, physics!! I have got seven lessons tomorrow too. Don’t copy from telegram!!! Do origami for craft! Cook six cakes and tidy the house till we come!!!

 (Going round her 3 times , leave the room.)

Scene 7

 

Cinderella:(crying)What shall I do with all this?

 

(Modern  music. Cinderella is sorting the cereal)

Cinderella: This, that, this, that.(Appear birds, help her)

OK! I did it!

And now the homework. Let me see.(opens the laptop) Oh in English page 90 and 91 students book, page 50 and 51 workbook. And writing an essay. Oh, my God, when will I cope with all this? And 10 pages for making chronological table in history. I must do 20 sums in algebra and 10 in geometry, 8 pages  for reading in chemistry, oh, is it possible, 100 pages in literature, 6 pages making translation in French and origami, and cakes and what not…

( on the screen appears some information)

Cinderella: Oh, what’s this? There is some information on the screen. Be Careful! Don’t go to school! COVID! Lockdown! Download your home assignment in Google class!

I’ll do it!!!(downloads)

Cinderella: (Very surprised)Oh! What else is here? Go to the party to the palace  immediately! Prince is under evil magic. You must save prince!

What shall I do?

Tell 5 times without stopping, ‘Tall boy’.(She tries but can’t, then she does it.  ‘Tell another twister’ What can I tell?  Can I can a can as a can a can can. What else?  ‘Tell 5 times as quickly as you can, ‘Red lorry, yellow lorry’ I did it! (on the screen) ‘ Thank you very much! Go to the party as quickly as you can!’  But how can I go in these clothes?(crying)

Ding! (Fairy Mother appears)

Fairy Mother: Cinderella, my darling, why are you crying?

       Cinderella: Oh! Fairy Mother! I must go to the party, to save the prince, but there is a lot of work.

Fairy Mother: Don’t worry. Here is your dressing gown. (Ding)

Here are your shoes and the car.(Ding!)

Cinderella: Oh, Fairy, thank you very much! Can I believe my eyes?

Fairy Mother: Yes. Go to the party, but remember! You should leave the party till midnight!

Cinderella: OK, Mother! OK! Thank you very much!

Ding! (Fairy Mother disappears)

Cinderella rides to the party.

Scene 8

 

In the palace. The music is playing. Everybody is dancing. Stepmother and sisters too.

Cinderella appears so beautiful and smiling that everybody stops turning at her beauty. Even the music stops playing. The prince is shocked with the fascinating girl, approaches her.

Prince: Who are you?

The music starts playing and everybody is dancing, asking:

Who’s this? Where is she from?

The prince is dancing with Cinderella. Stepmother and her daughters try to dance with prince, but he is dancing only with Cinderella.

 

Scene 9

 

Boom!!! Boom!!! Boom!!!

 

Cinderella: Oh my God! I must go!( Boom!!! Boom!!! Boom!!! )

Prince: Wait! Where are you going?!( Boom!!! Boom!!! Boom!!! )

Cinderella is running away, but looses her crystal shoe. ( Boom!!! Boom!!! Boom!!! )

Prince: Oh! Crystal shoe. It’s hers!

She tries to hide somewhere in the bushes as it’s 12 o’clock at midnight and she is again in her dirty clothes.

 

Scene 10

 

The same sitting room, Stepmother and her daughters are speaking about the ball in the palace. Cinderella is doing some work.

 

Stepmother: There was so strange girl at the party that we didn’t manage to dance with the prince. She didn’t let us.

Sister 1: She was beautiful.

Sister 2:No, I was beautiful

 

Scene 11

 

Somebody is shouting:

Is anybody at home?

Stepmother sees the prince and his courtier: Come in, please. Come in.

Courtier: Have you got the girls in your house?

Stepmother and sisters: Yes! Yes! We are here!

Courtier: Somebody lost the crystal shoe at the party in the palace. The girl whom the crystal shoe fits, will be the prince’s wife.

Stepmother and her daughters try to try on the shoe(fighting): It’s mine! It’s mine! It’s mine! No! It’s mine!(But the shoe is too small)

Courtier: Is there anybody else in your house?

Stepmother and sisters: No! No! No!

Courtier:(notices Cinderella): Who’s that?

Stepmother and sisters: No! No! No!

Prince: Come here.

Cinderella comes, tries the shoe and it’s OK.

Prince: This is my princess!

 

The music is playing, everybody is happy.
