MISS AND MISTER ENGLISH

Good afternoon, dear guests! We are glad to see you at our competition MISS AND MISTER ENGLISH. At first I`d like to present our JUDGES. They are:

You know that today is birthday of queen of England Elizabeth II. Today we will imagine that we are in England and what we should do there and how behave ourselves. Today we will know who are the best pupils of our school, how are they talented and how do they know English. So, there will be 9 different tasks for our participants. Let`s meet our participants.

Let`s begin our game from the first task – PRESANTATION. Let`s imagine that we are in the Palace at the ball and there are a lot of unknown people. Each pupil has to present himself or herself and tell us some words.

OK! Now we see that you are all very talented and very different. It will not be so easy to decide who is the best of you. Now our second task – WARMING UP. While we are waiting for food we have time to communicate with other guests and show how we are clever. You will listen to some riddles and if you know the answer you have to raise your hand. Now we will see who is the quickest and cleverest.

1. How many 9`s are between 1 and 100? (20)

3. Give me food and I will live. Give me water and I will die. What am I? (fire)

4. What has a head like a cat, feet like a cat, a tail like a cat, but is not a cat? (a kitten)

Well! You were very quick! OK! The birthday of Elizabeth II, but do you know something about this great woman and her country? Our next task will connect with Elizabeth and England. The third task is SCRAMBLING.

I think you are tired, and now we`ll have a little rest in our next competition. Now you will listen to some musical compositions and you have to dance. Let`s start!
Do you like to eat tasty food? Do you know how was it done, from what ingredients? Now we will give you these lists with different ingredients. You should write the menu for dinner on these plates.
While our judges are checking your dishes, we`ll give you this patter.

You are to read it correctly and quickly.

And our next task is a little quiz. You all know a lot about queen of England Elizabeth II. Now you will listen to some questions, if you know the answer, raise your hand.
Our next task is connecting with poems. You all of course know what we need for writing a poem. It is a rhyme. Now I will say a word and you have to find a rhyme for it. For example: bad – sad, stick – quick…

And now our last task. Here are a lot of different words, 5 participants come here and in 30 seconds they have to take as more words as they can, but these words must be connected with going to the Ball. So, what things do you need going to the Palace to the Ball. You have to explain why did you choose this thing.
And now our judges will count the results and we`ll know who is the best!
