Magician

If you are a dreamer, come in

If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,

A hoper, a prayer, a magic bean buyer…

If you are a pretender, come sit by the fire

For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.

Come in! Come in!

Pupil 1, Pupil 2.

Pupil 1

Good afternoon, everybody!

We shall speak about seasons today.

How many seasons are there in a year?

Name them, please. Right you are!

Pupil 3

“The seasons”

Winter is white,

Springtime is green,

Summer is golden,

And autum’s flame.

Four lovely seasons

To make up a year,

Sing them by colour

And sing them by name.

Pupil 2. Listen and guess what season it is, please.

Pupil 4

This is the season

When snowdrops bloom

When nobody likes to stay in the room.

This is the season

When birds make their nests

This is the season

We all like best.

Children. Spring!

Pupil 1. You are right again.

We shall begin with spring because nature awakens in spring.

Pupil 2. And by the way in old Roman calendar a new year began with spring. March was the first month of the year.

Spring. I am spring. People call me the season of hope and happiness. When I come grass begins to grow green, leaves appear in the trees, birds come from the south and begin to build their nests. Everything looks so beautiful, everything is in blossom.

Children help their parents to plant trees, vegetables and flowers. The sky is blue. First rain washes the earth and everything looks so bright!

Girl

Little red bird in the tree,

Pass the happy news along,

Sing a song so cheerily,

Pass the happy news along.

Boy

Pass the happy news along,

Listen to the red bird’s song.

“Spring is coming, winter’s gone!”

Pass the happy news along.

March

March brings sunny days and winds,

So we know that spring begins.

March wind goes out to play,

He will have such fun today!

When the boys and girls come out,

He blows their caps and hats about.

April

April brings the primrose sweet,

We see daisies at out feet.

Days are clear,

When April’s here.

Day after day,

That leads to May.

May

May brings flowers, joy and grass,

the holidays for us

Deep in the woods a song I hear,

A robin is singing, “May is here!”

Then at my feet a violet blue

Is singing, “Sam blooming for you”.

Pupil 5

It’s springtime, it’s springtime,

Cold winter is past.

Warm breezes are blowing,

And May’s here at last

The birds are returning,

Their songs fill the air

And meadows are smiling

With blossoms so fair.

Pupil 1. And what season is it? Try to guess.

Pupil 2

This is the season when nights are short,

And children have plenty of fun and short.

Boating, swimming all the day

With a merry song on a sunny day.

Children. “Summer!”

Boy

Ring-a-ding! Ring-a-ding!

Ding! Ding! Ding!

In comes Summer!

Out goes, Spring! Ding!

Girl

Ring-a-ding! Ring-a-ding!

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Welcome Summer!

Good-bye, Spring!

Summer. After spring time is over, summer comes. My months are June, July and August. I am the hottest season of the year. The sun shines brightly; green grass and flowers are everywhere. Children go to the rest camps. They bathe, swim, bake in the sun. They gather berries, mushrooms. They help to grow fruit and vegetables.

Pupil 6. Summer’s here! Days are long! And the sun is high and strong. Long live, summer! Golden, bright, full of warmth and sweet delight!

June

June brings tulips, lilies, roses,

Fills the children’s hands with posies.

July

Hot July brings apples and cherries,

And a lot of other berries.

August

August brings us golden corn,

Then the harvest home is born.

June

Come, my children, come away.

For the sun shines bright today,

Little children, come with me,

Birds and brooks and flowers see.

July

Get your hats and come away,

For it is a pleasant day.

August

Let us make a merry ring,

Talk and laugh, and dance and sing!

Quickly, quickly come away,

For it is a pleasant day.

Summer стають в коло і співають пісню “When Woods Are Green”.

When woods are green and groves are fair.

And leaves are large and long.

It’s good to wander though the woods (2)

And hear the small bird’s song. (2)

Boy. Shower, shower, go away!

Girl. Bob and Sally want to play.

June

For the field and for the wood

Summer showers are so good!

Every river, every pool

After showers is quite full.

                                                                        August

Rain in summer sings a song –

There’ll be apples all year long.

Pupil 2. Thank you.

And now.

What season is this?

Pupil 1

This is a season

When days are cool

When we eat apples

And we go to school.

Children. “Autumn!”

Pupil 2

You are right again.

Now listen.

Autumn. I come after summer, when days become cool. I am the richest season. No wonder I bring fruit, vegetables and turn the leaves red, yellow and brown. Everything looks so beautiful in its colorful dress. They say I am the golden season. The rains begin. One day you get up and see that your town is all covered with snow.

September

Warm September brings us school,

Days are shorter, nights are cool.

October

Fresh October brings much fruit,

Then to gather them is good.

November. Then November brings us joy,

Fun for every girl and boy.

Pupil 7

Autumn is the season when fruit is sweet.

It is the season when school-friend meet.

When noisy and gay and browned by the sun.

With their books and bags to school they run.

September

There are twelve months in a year,

From January to December –

And the best month of the all twelve

Is the merry month of September.

October. Golden in the tree tops,

Golden in the sky,

Golden, golden, golden

October’s passing by.

November

The summer is over,

The trees are bare,

There is mist in the garden,

And frost in the air.

Wind

“Come, little winds”, said the wind one day,

“Come over the meadows with me and play.

Put on your dresses of red and gold,

For summer is gone and days are cold”.

Leaves

Yellow, red and green and brown,

See the little leaves fall down.

Dancing, dancing in the breathe

Falling, falling from the trees.

Cleaning up the garden”.

The autumn leaves are falling down,

Falling down, falling down,

The wind, he comes and blows them around,

And blows them around.

Pupil 1. Which is the coldest season?

Children. “Winter!”

Winter. I am the coldest season of the year. My months are December, January, February. When I come all the rivers and lakes are frozen. Snowflakes dance in the air. The ground, the trees and the houses are white with snow. The days are short and the nights are long. When the sun sends its rays to the earth everything sparkles like diamonds. You will never see such a wonderful picture in any other season! Children like winter very much.

Boy

I like to skate and ski in winter (2)

I like to skate and ski every winter

And so do all of us (2)

Skating, skating

Boys and girls so gay

Like to skate together

On a winter day.

Skiing, skiing,

Boys and girls so gay

Like to ski together

On a winter day.

Girl. And I like to sledge down the hill and play snowballs and make a snow-man.

Down comes the snow

On a winter day.

I make a snow-man

When I go to play.

Sing a song of winter

Be happy and gay,

Dance around the snow-man

Come out and play.

Pupil 8

How quietly the snow

Is falling on the ground,

It’s falling on the country-side

And softly on the town.

And children’s eyes are bright

With wonder and delight,

For tiny starts of snow are falling

From the sky tonight.

Tonight, the tiny starts of snow.

December

Cold December brings us skating,

For the New Year we are waiting.

January

January brings us snow,

Makes our feet and fingers glow.

February

February snows again

And sometimes it brings us rain.

December

This is the season

When children ski

And Father Frost

Brings the New Year Tree.

January

The snow is falling

The wind is blowing

The ground is white

All day and all night.

February

Snow flakes fall on trees and walk.

Snow flakes fall as white as chalk.

Snow flakes fall into my hand.

Snow flakes brighten up our land.

Pupil 9

When it is the winter-time

We go up the street

And we make the snow speak

With our little feet –

“Crickle, crickle, crickle,

Crrreet, crrreet, crrreet!”

It’s snowing, it’s snowing,

What a lot of snow?

It’s snowing, it’s snowing,

Let us play with snow!

Pupil 1

Winter is rich in holidays.

All children like holidays.

Do you know winter holidays?

Children. Yes, New Year and Christmas.

Pupil 10

A Happy New Year!

The day is so clear

The snow is so white

The sky is so bright

We shout with all our might

“A Happy New Year!”

We Wish You A Merry Christmas”.

Good friends – good times

Good health – good cheer

And happy days

Throughout the year!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

JINGLE BELLS

James Pierpont (1857)

Dashing through the snow

In a one-house open sleigh

O’er the fields we go

Laughing all the way;

Bells on bob-tail ring

Making spirits bright

What fun it is to ride and sing

A sleighing song tonight!

Chorus.

O! Jingle bells, jingle bells,

Jingle all the way!

O what fun it is to ride,

In a one-house open sleigh, hey!

Jingle bells, jingle bells,

Jingle all the way!

O what fun it is to ride,

In a one-house open sleigh!

A day or two ago

I thought I’d take a ride

And soon Miss Fanny Bright

Was seated by my side;

The house was lean and lank;

Misfortune seemed his lot;

He got into a drifted bank

Arid we, we got upset!

Chorus.

A day or two ago

The story I must tell

I went out on the snow

And on my back l fell;

A gent was riding by

In a one-horse open sleigh

He laughed as there

I sprawling lay

But quickly drove away!

Chorus.

New the ground is white

Go and while you’re young

Take the girls tonight

And sing this sleighing song.

Just gel a bob-tailed bay

Two-forty as his speed

Hitch him to an open sleigh!
