There is …There are … Конструкція there is / there are використовується в реченнях, якщо нам треба сказати про наявність якогось предмету в деякому місці. Тобто про те, що щось (хтось) десь знаходиться. There is a mouse in the kitchen! There are cookies in the box.

Форма заперечення з there is / there are. Заперечлива форма утворюється додаванням частки not після дієслов is/are в потрібній формі. Вона використовується, якщо ви хочете сказати, що чогось немає, не було або не буде де-небудь. Ми можемо скоротити повну форму there is not = there isn’t та there are not = there aren’t. There is not a book on the table. There is a lamp on the table. There are oranges in the box. There aren’t apples in the box.

Look and make sentences negative: There are paintings on the wall. There aren’t paintings on the wall. There is a table in the room. There isn’t a table in the room. There are cushions on the sofa. There aren’t cushions on the sofa.
