Endangered Species
Every ten minutes, one kind of animal, plant or insect disappears. We must read books about animals. If nothing is done about it, over one million species will disappear in twenty years from now. Why does it happen?
The seas are in danger. We can swim there in summer. The water is polluted with different chemicals and toxic waste. One day nothing will be able to live in the seas.
The tropical forests are the natural habitat for many animals. But people cut down trees to have more room for farmland, to build houses and roads. We must build good houses. As a result a lot of animals don’t have enough food or place to live. Some animals can live without food. If nothing is done about it, they will disappear.
Another factor that makes animals become endangered is hunting. Many animals are hunted one way or another. But it is not very important. For example, elephants are hunted for their tusks. Rhinos died because of their horns. People kill pandas for their fur. And turtles are killed for shell and meat.
So, if we want to have future, we must do everything to protect endangered animals.
