School subjects
A lot of schoolchildren often complain that school is boring and a waste of time. I think it is not really true. The majority of the things we learn in school are useful to us in many ways.
In the first place, school gives us general knowledge, which helps in our everyday life. I think that knowledge of subjects, such as Geography and History, helps us to understand what is happening in the world around us. Without this knowledge the information from newspapers and TV would mean very little to us.
What’s more, some school subjects help us to develop an interest in hobbies. In my case, I like to spend my free time surfing the Internet.
On the other hand, there are some subjects in school which seem to me a waste of time. I particularly dislike Chemistry.
To sum up, I believe that school gives us a very good basis for our understanding of the world.
