Деякі особливості використання артикля

В англійській мові є три артиклі: означений the, неозначений a/an, нульовий. Вживання артикля залежить від типу іменника і контексту. Щоб вибрати необхідний артикль, слід визначити:

Чи називає іменник предмет взагалі (не виділяючи його з однорідних предметів), чи він указує на конкретний предмет. Наприклад:

I saw a film yesterday.

The film I saw yesterday is really interesting (саме той фільм, який я бачив)

Іменник є обчислювальним чи необчислювальним. Наприклад:

a book, a house, a dog, a watch, a friend – обчислювальні іменники

joy, snow, furniture, sunshine, advice – необчислювальні іменники

Іменник має форму однини чи множини. Наприклад:

a book – однина;

books – множина.

Алгоритм уживання артикля.

1. Чи називає іменник конкретний предмет?
