Ціль уроку: систематизувати і узагальнити знання учнів з теми «Good Health Is Above Wealth».
Завдання уроку:
Освітні:
- удосконалювати вміння та навички практичного володіння англійською мовою;
- узагальнити лексичний матеріал на тему «Health»;
- навчати навичкам роботи у мультимедійному середовищі;
- розширювати кругозір учнів з обраної теми;
Пізнавальні:
- познайомити учнів із рекомендаціями щодо ЗОЖ.
Розвиваючі:
- розвивати комунікативні вміння та навички говоріння, аудіювання, читання та письма з теми;
- розвивати творчі здібності учнів;
- розвивати пам'ять, увагу та мислення;
- розвивати вміння висловлювати свою думку та робити висновки;
- розвивати навички взаєморозуміння та співробітництва.
Виховні:
- виховувати звичку до здорового способу життя:
- виховувати вміння уважно слухати та поважати думки однокласників;
- стимулювати інтерес до вивчення англійської мови, залучаючи їх до колективної творчої діяльності.
Обладнання: комп'ютер, мультимедійний проектор, матеріал роздатковий.
Lesson Plan.
I.Warm - up. Brainstorm.
T. Good morning, dear pupils and our dear guests. Today our meeting is devoted to a very important problem. The crossword on the screen will help you to guess what we are going to discuss today. So, use the clues below the crossword to complete the dialogue.
Pupils solve the crossword.
T. Can you guess what we are going to speak about?
P. I think we are going to speak about health.
II. The main part
1. Speaking
T. Right you are. So, today we are going to talk about our health and about healthy way of life. Every day we hear the word “health” and know that it’s very important in our life. But I wonder! How much do you know about your health? Answer the questions in pairs.
Pupils in pairs answer the questions.

2. Work in groups
T So, as you see, we have to learn a lot about our health in order to lead a healthy way a life. And now I’d like you to think about and tell us what health means for us?
P-P
P: To sum up, we can say, that the word health has a rather wide and complicated meaning. We should take up sport, be in a good mood, follow hygiene rules, have good habits and eat healthy food to be fit.
3. Writing test.
T: You are quite right. There is a wise saying: “Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit. When one is free from physical disabilities and mental distractions, the gate of the soul open.” To continue our work, I want you to revise some words on the topic.
T: All of us know that we should take care of our health. But sometimes because of our carelessness or some accidents we fall ill or suffer from bad habits. The next task will be to look at the pictures of people who have some problems with their health. Let’s discuss what is wrong with each of the people in the pictures and tell us what they should do to recover. (see app)
4. The description of pictures.
T: Nowadays people all over the world are rather health – conscious. That’s why people are searching for more ways of looking good and feeling good. Your hometask was to read the text about introduction of healthy food in one of the British schools. Can you answer my questions?
T: Let’s give the summary of the text. Can you explain the disagreement between Mr. Lambert and the two mothers in your own words?
T: Do you think schools should try to improve their students’ diets, or should students be able to choose what they eat? Justify your answer.
P-P
T: Each of you has his own opinion on such controversial subject as healthy eating and healthy way of life. And in order to find out if your classmates lead a healthy way of life you have made up a quiz and have interviewed your classmates on this topic. Could you, please, introduce us with the results?
P-P: Sociological investigation. (see app)
P: We conducted a survey of 18 classmates aged from14 to 15 years. The questions were about a healthy lifestyle and habits of children. And our survey showed that our classmates have comparatively a lot of bad habits and lead not very healthy lifestyle. Nearly more than half of those surveyed eat unhealthy junk food, they also think that our schools shouldn’t provide healthy food. Nearly all of surveyed spend more than 3 hours surfing the |Internet and only about an hour exercising. Moreover, as recognized survey, 50% of pupils don’t have enough sleep. We have discovered some rather interesting things. Firstly, when we asked about energy drinks and beer, 4 pupils said that they have already drunk them and 5 of others rejected to answer the question. Then, the emotional state of most pupils depends on the weather and other reasons. It’s a pity as we know that emotions influence our health greatly. On the whole, young people lead not a very healthy lifestyle and they don’t pay much attention to their health. The survey prove this: more than half of questioned visit doctors rarely, only when they fall ill. More than that they don’t care on the problem of banning smoking in the public places. On they other side they consider health to be an important part of their lives. Many of our classmates understand their mistakes and begin to correct them. We hope that after a while such people will be more and more. Take care of your health.

III. Summing up
T: I hope you understand that it is important to follow these simple rules to keep fit. It’s a pity, but our lesson comes to an end. Now let’s sum up our work. And I propose you to do it with the help of different proverbs and sayings. Look at the screen. There are jumbled proverbs on it. If you connect two parts of each proverb you will be able to give all of us a good piece of advice.
