Обладнання: підручник, зошит, диск, ноутбук, ТВ, презентація, роздатковий матеріал.

Хід уроку

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.

1.Привітання

- Good afternoon.

On my way to school I checked the mail-box and found this. … do you know what this symbol mean?………………

Yes, you are right; this is a symbol of recycling.

2.Повідомлення теми та мети уроку.

And today we are going to speak about environmental pollution, learn new words and expressions. We will also find out the easiest ways to protect the environment.

So, the topic of our lesson is BECOMING GREEN.

3. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу.(+ Аудіювання.) 

To begin with I suggest you to listen to the environmental quotes and practise the rhythm. And then try to say what the main idea of the quotes is. (track 20)

- So, what is the main idea of all these quotes?

- Now, listen and repeat what different people say about environment.

- And now could you say with whom you agree and try to give your comments.

(Don’t forget to use these expressions……….)

4. Перевірка домашнього завдання.(+ Письмо)

Yes, and one of your home-tasks was to write a list of causes that affect our environment.

Could you tell us and write the causes first of all?

And now, lets see how all these effects the environment.

II. Основна частина уроку.

1.Презентація нового лексичного матеріалу.(+ Аудіювання.)

So, you can see that not only industry but also people cause a lot of problems and today we will try to find out if there is any way to solve the situation with ecology.

-But to do this we need to learn some new words and expressions.

- Listen to the tape (track19) and repeat

-Now, please, read the expressions and try to translate them.

2. Use these expressions and write what we can do to save and protect environment. (+ Письмо)

3. Work in pairs and make up short dialogues about environmental problems we have and the ways to solve them.

- I know that all of you are very creative, use your imagination and any things we have in the classroom, make or show your own symbol of environmental protection.

- One of the ways out of the situation as you’ve said is to live in harmony with nature. And what do you think where it is easier to do it: living in a town or in a countryside?

4.Читання.

-I would like you to read this article under the title “Six reasons not to…”

As you see the title is not finished, so read the introduction (Ex.A) and let’s complete the title.

-So, the article is about 6 reasons why we shouldn’t live in the countryside. Isn’t it strange a bit? Would you like to know these reasons?...... Yes,I am sure,yes.

* Work in groups

1) your task is to read the text and find out 6 reasons the author gives.

2) and decide if the statements of Ex.D are true or false according the text

3) and do Ex.E

-So, have you changed your mind? Where would you like to live now?

- Yes, you are quite right, we can protect environment in towns and in countryside.

And all of you had a task to present your ways out of the situation.

- Let’s start with group 1, they had a task to make a project and suggest the easiest ways to protect environment. PROJECT

-Which of the ideas you like most of all?

-And now, please, suggest your ideas.

-So, as you see it’s not difficult at all to protect environment in our every day life.

ІІІ. Заключна частина уроку

1.Дом.завдання

-And your home task is to think and suggest in what practical ways we could protect environment in our school. You can do it in groups or alone.

* My idea is to put a paper bin in the classrooms and collect wrap paper.!

2.Підведення підсумків.

-So, we have spoken about environment today. Learnt a lot of new expressions. Discussed what causes affect environment and tried to find out the ways out of the situation. Could you tell them.  And even presented some project work.
