Topic: Every day

Aim: to practice the pronunciation of the English sounds;

          to practice using vocabulary presented in the unit;

          to develop communication skills;

          to develop students’ memory and creativity;

          to encourage students’ interests in learning English

Learning outcomes: by the end of the lesson students will be able

                     to use the vocabulary, ask and answer about the activities, describe                                          

                     people’s professions           

Materials: class TV and computer, video and audio materials, PB, WB

Greeting and aim

 

  • Hello, my dear pupils!

              I am glad to see you!

 

Today we’ll practice in speaking and listening about people’s professions. Are you ready? I wish you good luck!

 

  1. Practice

Phonetic drill

1)Let`s review some sounds. Look at me and repeat after me.

[m] – mum, many, much, mice

[d] – dad, doctor, daughter, doll

[s] – sister, sorry, second, some

[b] – brother, big, brown blue

[g] – granny, grandpa, guest, green

 

2)Lets play the game: “Catch the sounds”

sound [r] - sister, sky, friend, blue, mother, dad, grey;

sound [n] – nine, five, nose, like, black, nephew, green;

sound [l] – live, like, nice, ten, red, family;

sound [p] – pink, have, read, write, play, party

 

 

   Warming up

       Ask and answer: Do you ride a bike? – Yes, I do.

                                  Do you drive a car? – No, I don’t.

 

Presentation vocabulary

Look at the pictures, listen and repeat after the speaker: firefighter, put out fires, save people, actor, doctor, pilot, artist.
